Missed today’s premiere so that we could catch up on some much-needed sleep 💤 Grateful to all of you for the continued love and support - your get-well wishes mean the world to our little family. Our first encounter with Covid is kicking our butts. Other than the expected cold/fatigue/sinus infection gunk, my taste is totally warped! What weird things should I try while my tastebuds are messed-up?

Getting sick is always unexpected...Luckily, the channel is prepared for this. We regularly create content a month in advance, just in case something happens and I’m not able to film for a while. I plan to rest lots and lots over the next 10 days, but that won’t affect our premiere schedule. Sending out a huge thank to our team for making it possible to rest when we need to. 🎄✨ Christmas is peeking right around the corner...only nine days away! Can you feel the holiday magic? Now, the real question is, , have you been naughty or nice? 🤔 Santa's making his list, and I want to know where you're landing!

I know this isn't a violin...::giggles:: but guess what? It reminded me that today is National Violin Day! 🎻✨ Let's celebrate the strings that make our hearts sing. What's your all-time favorite song featuring a string instrument?

The world lost an opera giant last week: Marlena Malas. I want to take a moment to pay homage to her.

Marlena had a wonderful early career as a mezzo soprano, but despite her success I believe she found her true calling later as one of the best voice teachers that the world has ever known. It was in this capacity that I had the pleasure of knowing Marlena. She taught me how to sing throughout my twenties.

My favorite vocal takeaway from Marlena was her warm-up. She focused on the whole body and becoming present, in addition to activating the voice. I always felt better after her warm-up and lesson, and this reflected in many successful auditions (which I loved to schedule just after lessons). I still use her warm-up series in my practice and with students today. It works for every genre.

A great voice teacher is more than a vocal pedagogue. The greatest also guide their students in life. In this area, Marlena particularly thrived.

She guided me in channeling emotion into singing during some of the most trying times of life. She helped me to find my backbone when I needed strength and she nurtured vulnerability when I needed softness. She embodied kind, yet firm support.

The voice is a reflection of a person’s entire life and state of being. Marlena understood this and also taught the heart and mind to sing.

There are many priceless memories I have read in the last few days from colleagues and others who knew Marlena. Thank you to everyone who has written a word about her. I’ve been reliving many of my own treasured memories through your words.

She leaves behind a legacy of students and musicians, and a world of opera that is better because she was here. We will all miss her.

🎶 Happy Techno Music Day! 🎧 Confession time: Techno is a genre I have yet to explore. But hey, I'm all about celebrating music in all its wild forms! It sounds like a fascinating world - from sequencers and synthesizers to drum machines and digital audio workstations.

🎉 Did you know? It's Mickey & Minnie Mouse's birthdays today!? 🎂✨ On November 18th, we celebrate the magical day that brought these beloved mice into our lives...this date marks their film debut in the Walt Disney classic "Steamboat Willie". Fun Fact: "Steamboat Willie" was one of the first cartoons ever to have synchronized sound.

As a complete and total Disney lover, I'm SO THANKFUL to Walt Disney and all the incredibly talented people at Disney, for creating characters and music that continue to warm our hearts.
