Students spoke about the mythological story behind celebrating Diwali and urged everyone to have a safe festival. Meridian Banjara Hills observed 'Vigilance Awareness Week' from 30 October to 4 November 2023. Poster making and Slogan writing were conducted. Also, a Guest Lecture was held on "Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation" by one of Telangana's top Advocates and brilliant orators Mr. Nihal Kovvali. The event was a huge success with its Interactive Session. Vice-Principal Mrs Rahat Rashed administered the Integrity Pledge for all the Sr. Secondary students and the staff gathered. The winners displayed their artistic exhibits and received appreciations. After the dispersal, student aspirants of Law, swarmed around Mr. Nihal, got their doubts clarified and felt more confident about their career choice.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, also known as Unity Day, was observed with great enthusiasm and reverence by the students of Middle School, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.
The Special Assembly commenced with an opening address by Pushkar and Anika, who eloquently spoke about the significance of Ekta Diwas, emphasizing the importance of unity in a diverse nation like India.
One of the highlights of the day was a captivating skit performed by the students, that depicted why unity among the diverse communities of India is essential for the progress and prosperity of the nation. It also reinforced the idea that unity is the strength of our country.
The most remarkable moment of the skit was the portrayal of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel by Mehul Bhutani of Grade 7, who convincingly assumed the role of the Iron Man of India. Dressed as Sardar Patel, Mehul delivered an awe-inspiring speech, addressing the students. He highlighted the values and principles that Sardar Patel stood for, such as hard work, integrity, education, and a deep sense of pride for the nation. His portrayal left a lasting impact on the audience, reminding them of the values that our great leaders exemplified.
Mrs. Padmashree, the Middle School Incharge, congratulated the students for their fantastic presentation. Her words served as a reminder that the values and principles exemplified by leaders like Sardar Patel are not just historical lessons but are relevant in our lives today.

An orientation session on Cyber Security Awareness was held on 31 October for students of Grades VII - X.
The session was conducted by consultants within the Cyber Defense Strategy and Governance service line with KPMG.
As is customary in Meridian, the session began
with lighting the lamp of knowledge followed by a brief interaction with students. Various aspects of Cyber Security like Secure Login/Logouts, Passwords, Social Media Profiles, Cyber Bullying, Artificial Intelligence and so on were discussed.
Through this session students were made aware about how to browse online safely especially Social Media platforms.
They were briefed on creation of secure passwords for any account be it online gaming or email accounts.
An insight into the scope of AI and its uses its relevance in our future was given.
The session was organised to instill responsible online behaviour among students ensuring they understand the risks and potential consequences of their actions on social media. It also equipped them with vital cybersecurity knowledge to protect themselves from digital threats. A few glimpses ๐
Award Ceremony was held 28.10.2023 for the young achievers of Grades 6-8. Certificates for various competitions held in Term 1, like The World of Geometry, Poster Making, Nano-Art-o-Graphy, Todayโs Science Is Tomorrowโs Technology, Role Play, Recitation Competition and many more, were given away by Principal Ms Nishi Rana. The aim of the plethora of competitions, conducted by various departments, was to foster the hidden talent of our students.
Nishi Rana Mam praised the students for their enthusiastic participation and the faculty for motivating students and training them to excel in various fields. She acknowledged the effort put in by each and every teacher of Middle School in conducting the competitions and in making todayโs Award Ceremony a grand success.

Students of Middle School presented a Special Assembly on Bathukamma - a colourful and vibrant festival of Telangana which is celebrated by women, with flowers that grow exclusively in each region. This festival is a symbol of Telangana's cultural identity. The nine avatars of the goddess were also portrayed by students and the significance of each was explained. Blessings of the female cosmic power-- Goddess Durga were invoked through song and dance. All the forms manifested by Maa Durga signify power, strength, bravery, knowledge, beauty, grace, and auspiciousness.
World Post Office Day is celebrated on 9th October every year. Dept of Social Science, Middle School, conducted activities to create an awareness among students on the role played by postal workers in connecting people of different parts and how they have helped in making the world a global village.
Students of Grade 6 wrote letters to their loved ones and these have been dropped in post boxes. Grades 7 and 8 designed their own postal stamps to commemorate the day.
Meridian School Banjara Hills marks its presence at the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, an initiative by the Government of India on 1st October, 2023.
Environmentally conscious High School students with six faculty members joined the Vice Principal Mrs. Rahat Rashed and the Senior School Incharge, Ms. Rita Nath in the cleanliness and sensitisation drive at the Wipro Lake, Hyderabad.
As a team, they gathered piles of plastic and other waste, and turned the lake cleaner in a few hours.
The exercise went beyond a mere cleanup activity, as the enthusiastic team also carried out an awareness and sensitisation session for the locals in the neighbourhood .

They owe gratitude to the Indian Government and the CBSE Regional Office Vijaywada for the noble initiative.

Did you know that every year on September 28th, we observe World Heart Day? It's a global campaign to raise awareness about heart disease. ๐ฉบโค๏ธ
This year's theme is "Use Heart, Know Heart," and our amazing IB PYP Grade 5 children celebrated it as "Hruday." โค๏ธ
They created small red heart emojis to spread the love. ๐
Why emojis, you ask? ๐ค Well, according to The World Heart Federation, emojis are a super popular way to communicate today, and they can help get important messages across, even across different languages! ๐๐ฃ๏ธ
So, remember, "Know Heart" means taking better care of your heart by understanding it more. ๐ซ

On the occasion of World Gratitude Day, students of Meridian expressed their gratitude to the unsung heroes of the organisation by conducting a Special Assembly. ๐
Gratitude is when one feels really happy and thankful for all the good things in ones life.
Students showed their gesture of gratitude by felicitating these โbackstage heroesโ who play a vital role in the smooth functioning of the school.
Some students shared anecdotes of different incidents that happened with them, in school and expressed their gratitude from the bottom of their heart. The contribution of the transport department, the admin staff, the mess department, the housekeeping department, the security, and all other support staff who are instrumental in creating a conducive environment filled with peace and happiness was acknowledged and applauded!! ๐๐

Hindi as a language has deep historical roots that trace back to the banks of the river Indus in the northwestern region of India. The Hindi Language connects people from various linguistic backgrounds. It acts a unifying force, enabling communication between individuals from different states and regions of India. IB PYP Grades 1 to 5 children celebrated *'Hindi Hai Hum'* ....Hindi Diwas on 14th Sept 23. The entire Special Assembly was conducted in Hindi. Thoughts for the Day were narrated and some DOHE were recited . The children proved that Mathra learning can be effective and fun by singing a song on *Mathras* with gestures.
All the Learners from Grades 1 to 5 had a special Hindi Prayer too !!

The Students of Grade 8 visited ' The Chowmahalla Palace' for the Educational field trip, it is a palace of prestigious Nizams of Hyderabad state.The palace is unique for its style and elegance.Some of the attractions are 250 year old clock tower(khilwat),council hall,rare collection of holy islamic scriptures, historical paintings of the nizam kings,vintage cars that were used by the nizams,Chow means 4 as the palaces like Afzal mahal,Aftab mahal,Mahtab mahal,Tahniyat mahal where the students were able to learn about the glorious history of our country.

The Installation Ceremony for the Interact Club was held today.The ceremony began with lighting of the lamp.The Principal Madam Nishi Rana ma'am , Vice Principal Ms.Rahat Rashed maam and Senior school incharge Ms.Rita Nath ma'am welcomed the Rotarians and congratulated the newly elected Board Members.The event was graced by Vice President Rotarian Kamalakar of the Jubilee Hills Rotary club, Interact Chair Ms.Dimple Grover and other Rotarians.
Outgoing President Miss.Hiba Iftekhar presented the Annual Report of the Interact Club.The new Interact Club President Miss. Maya Madhavan shared her vision for the year.
The eminent Rotarians motivated the students with words of wisdom and appreciated the work done by the school.
The Faculty Ms. Mary George and Ms. Pushpa Dinesh were at the helm to make the event a great success.

Meridian School, Banjara Hills Health and Wellness Program is in full swing! Vice Principal, Mrs. Rahat Rashed, led a thought-provoking session on "Prevention and Management of Substance Misuse" for our amazing Grade 8 and 9 students.
Mrs. Rahat discussed the dark side of alcohol, smoking, va**ng, to***co, and other substances, shedding light on the damage they can inflict on our bodies and minds. ๐ญ
She emphasized the power of saying "NO" to these harmful toxins, safeguarding our well-being and the normal functioning of our vital organs.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A round, where students got their queries resolved and made a solemn pledge to stay far away from these destructive habits.

Our students dazzled with brilliance under the captivating theme, "Let There Be Light: Innovate and Patent." ๐ They're redefining the boundaries of imagination!
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Ms.Sandhya Janak, our Guest of Honour.
Why Define When You Can Unleash Imagination? So true !
Students were granted an open canvas to cultivate their innovative and creative ideas for sustainable living as young budding scientists, with the sky as their only limit. The resulting array of working models was so captivating that the room couldn't contain their brilliance.
Among their innovations were the various hemodialysis techniques. Our young forensic enthusiasts brought forth advancements in fingerprint analysis and chromatography, even mastering DNA extraction.
The future custodians of our nation proposed ingenious solutions, such as a POWER SP photovoltaic outerwear enabled with regenerative solar power to protect our warriors at the borders.
The element of fun in science was vividly displayed through the captivating "Fire in Your Palm" activity.
These young Meridian minds illuminated the path towards a brighter, more sustainable future, showcasing the limitless potential of their generation.

A splendid and colourful performance was staged by the students of Grades 6 and 7 on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, depicting the Birth of Lord Krishna with a message highlighting victory of good over evil. Programme was very well organised by the Department of Hindi.

The freshers were enthralled by the gracious and cordial gesture and # opportunity to exhibit their talents.
