A few shots from sunsets, hikes, and runs over the last few weeks.
The last couple of weeks worth of shots from the area and the trail race in Charlotte.
A few shots from the last week or so.
Sunset in Jonesville last night.
Sunday night sunset.
Stone Mountain yesterday. Absolutely great day to be out and managed to dodge the crowds.
Downtown Elkin around 7 this evening.
Lightroom and Layout edit of a shot from Carter Falls on Sunday.
Sunday was a lot of fun and it thoroughly beat me up. 23 miles and 5K feet of elevation gain between Doughton Park and Stone Mountain. Started off by running the 17 mile outer loop at Doughton. Then I went to Stone Mountain and did the loop trail and Wolf Rock. I’m incredibly lucky to have these mountains near me to enjoy and help me get ready for bigger challenges.
Sometimes storms really make the Little Mountain area off Center Road shine.
Storm drain after the heavy rains today with some pretty heavy edits.
A couple shots and edits from last night at the farm.
A few different shots from the last week or so.
Layout and Lightroom edits of clouds rolling through Main Street today.
These edits are cool to me, especially when they end up so far from the original.
Blue Ridge GA and the southernmost point of the AT from last weekend.
Grab a shirt while ya can! When they’re gone, they’re gone for good. This is a shot from the Stone Mountain loop trail that I took last fall.
Coros gives some pretty cool and useful data in their app. Been interesting to see how things line up with how I feel after an activity.
A few different edits of the exposed roots and plant from yesterday.
Sometimes you get a little surprised about what you can make with certain edits.
You can still make some cool art out of a completely messed up long exposure shot.
Sometimes you get lucky with how oil suspends itself in alcohol while cleaning beakers.
E&A Railroad Trail this morning.
First longer run yesterday to try and get ready for a 50K. 11.3 miles with 1,152 feet of elevation gain. Also happened to be my first run with over 1K feet of elevation gain. It was damn hard but fun as hell to push myself too.
First race ever and I thought I’d be at the very back. Managed to get 4th male overall. I’m crazy happy and surprised as hell!
Sunset at the farm last night.
Cleaning after making products at the shop.
Pictures from yesterday’s trip to Stone Mountain.
Nearly threw up on the first trip up the short and steep side of Stone Mountain today but it was completely worth it. I kicked the s**t out of my previous road climb record from the winter when I took all the shortcuts up. Didn’t use any shortcuts this time and still was up it in 19:57 and from parking lot to the summit was 21:56. I really love seeing all the work that goes into this paying off with getting faster, stronger, and having more endurance. Entire day was 6.25 miles with 2,136 feet of elevation gain in one hour and 56 minutes of moving time.
The video from yesterday at Stone Mountain. Some hiking, some running, and a lot of me sounding like I’m dying. 🤣 it’s absolutely gorgeous year round there and the mountains are definitely a happy place for me, even when running with an 18lb pack on. https://youtu.be/NIzpT_efRcU
Stone Mountain NC loop trail 5.29.22 up twice and around the loop once. Set a PR of 19:57 on the first trip up for the road climb segment on Strava. Parking lot to summit time was 21:56. The whole day was 6.25 miles and 2,136 fee...
