Thank you for coming back into my chair!! likes to push me out of my comfort zone but I LOVED this eye colour combo she requested! 😍

For her lips we used just a liner to line and fill in and then dabbed some of the shimmer pink we used on her eyes into the center of her lips.. Just beautiful!

I thought I would take the time to reintroduce myself as it’s been a while!

My name is Shannon and I started the MakeUp Bag as I felt reasonable, genuine makeup was not easily available.

We are approaching our 3rd year of being open and I have loved every second of it! The support I have received has been nothing short of amazing! I love chatting all things makeup with all of you who pop in to the shop, or visit The Makeup Bag at various fairs.

My aim is to provide affordable, genuine, drugstore Makeup, Skincare and all bits and pieces you need for your Makeup Bag.

Thank you again for all of your lovely support! I have been a bit quiet as I’ve been working furiously behind the scenes on a few new and exciting things! We’ve been branching out and growing, so over the next few days I will fill you all in on what’s been happening.. 💋💄

Liquid Highlighter ✨ Perfect for finishing off a dewy look by adding some sheen to the cheekbones, brow bones, cupids bow and nose. All the places that would naturally catch light.

Highlighter can be intimidating.. start off light and build up with your application.. If you are visible from the 🌛it might be a little too much 🫣😉

I had this lovely lady come in today for makeup.. She wanted soft glam with a small winged liner and light shimmer on the lids. Love how this turned out on her and we think she looked gorgeous 😍🤩

Foundation application, the long standing debate.. Brush, blender or fingers 😱

Everyone has their preference (each with their pro’s and con’s). However, the one thing I have noticed is the conversion from “fingers” to either a brush or a blender. They make a world of difference to your application and save you SO much product!

Unwanted complexion tones? There’s colour correct for that!!

Personally, skin pigmentation has me like 😱 Colour correcting has been a game changer for me!! Unwanted post pregnancy dark spots are banished with a little bit of orange or pink corrector 👌🏼

Lets focus on colour correcting this week, and which colours to use for which unwanted skin issues!!

Much like the painting world, a Primer is used to “treat” a surface before applying a topcoat (ie your makeup). They create a smoothing effect that enhances makeup coverage all while targeting concerns like oily or dry skin and even rosacea.

We have various types of primers in store (something for everyone) and for those of you who are a little bit “Boujee”.. we even have a primer flecked with gold ✨👌🏼🤩

Here are some cheat sheets for when and how you should be looking after your skin. It takes time for serums to work, choose your routine and products and give them time to work..

Let’s talk Serums! A product you apply after cleansing but before moisturizing in order to deliver certain ingredients to the skin to combat concerns.

Stabilized Collagen: Helps restore collagen into the skin to aid with elasticity. Making skin look more plump and youthful.

Niacinamide and Zinc: Minimizes pores and heals the skins surface. Aids oily skin and reduces skin blemishes. Also helps with reducing dark spots and evening out skin tone.

Hyaluronic Acid: A great hydrator for the skin! Helps keeps skin full and plump and reduces fine lines.
