Creative.Scribble

I get excited thinking about colours, typography and, design but my passion for all aspects of graphic design has remained strong throughout my life.

Creative.Scribble is a collection of creative and independent graphic design projects created by me.

"Simplicity is about subtracting the obvious and adding the meaningful" ~John Maeda

Sharing one of the branding assignment which I did for my Adobe InDesign program for the company name Carson. I had to design a tri-fold brochure for the company using the provided images.

One important and crucial thing I learned throughout my program was "Less is MORE".

I am posting 2 images, one which I submitted for my assignment and the other one which I have recently edited and subtracted few things to make it more simple and compelling.

Which one do you like more?

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes, Design is knowing which ones to keep. ~ Scott Adams

Adobe InDesign is first program that I started learning and using, so to be honest I am not proud of all the projects I did at the beginning of my learning journey. But as I learned more about all the elements of the design it got better and better.

For this project I had worked on Photo-type Editorial Magazine Layout that is to substitute a letter using a photo and work with grids for layout, so everything falls according to the hierarchy and is proportionate.

I didn’t have to think too much about it as I got the idea of using a picture of Eiffel Tower as an alphabet A in the word Paris and everything worked out perfectly!

There's always gonna be another mountain,
I'm always gonna wanna make it move,
Always gonna be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you're gonna have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side,
It's the climb!
~ Miley Cyrus

I always thought Adobe Photoshop is a Photo Editor program, however when I actually worked on it and learned it’s features, I realized how little I knew about Photoshop.

Today, I am sharing the Final Project I did for Adobe Photoshop. I had to carefully select a favourite lyric or line from a song which I could communicate it through photography. Had to rely on my Photoshop skills to edit, enhance and manipulate the photo to achieve the mood and tone of the lyric.

I chose the song "The Climb" - Written and sung by Miley Cyrus

Model: My son Haider (who climbed the hill several times lol, so that Huz (my hubby) could take the required shot.

Location: Blue Heron Lake, Windsor, Canada

FYI: We didn't get the perfect picture with Haider running uphill but placed him there through photoshop 😉

"The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love colour the most" - John Ruskin

The project was to design an app for a new music streaming company called Studio Colours using Adobe XD program which is a vector-based UX (user experience) design tool for web apps and mobile apps.
The prototype needed to be as interactive as possible so it had the feel and interface as a real app. Used the mixed colour background to incorporate all the colours and then opted to go for the combination of deep purple and teal as they compliment each other a lot.

"Our only limitation, within reason, lies in the development and use of our imagination" - Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich)

At the start of my Graphic Design program I was exposed to Adobe InDesign program which is a publishing and page layout designing software. The Final Assignment of that program was to re-design a book cover and changing the format of the first 4 chapters of the classic book "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. I was excited to do this project since I had read this amazing book. I had the physical copy of it too and I knew I needed to do something different. Designed the book cover which was modern and aesthetic.
