Important information to pass on from NAMI:
(National Alliance on Mental Illness)

There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world right now, but one thing remains clear: throughout this pandemic, people need access to mental health care and support. And NAMI is here to help.
• We have upgraded the NAMI Helpline to operate remotely so callers can continue to access mental health support and resources. Please don’t hesitate to call 800-950-NAMI (6264) or email [email protected] if you or someone you know needs support and guidance in this moment.
• Our in-depth COVID-19 guide with tips and resources is available online for people who are experiencing anxiety, loneliness and other hardships due to the spread of the Coronavirus. Please take a look and share it with anyone who might be struggling or have questions about managing a mental health condition during this time.
• We are also organizing an urgent Ask the Expert webinar to provide guidance and resources on how people can manage their own mental health in the context of this pandemic. Keep an eye on your inbox over the next few days for information on how to register.
• We are calling on our nation’s leaders to ensure that COVID-19 relief packages account for the needs of people affected by mental illness, including measures to help maintain their treatment, get health and mental health coverage, access needed supports and protect the nonprofits they depend on, like NAMI.
Many of us are still processing feelings of fear, isolation, confusion, anger and sadness and the demand for our services is increasing. Your support is critical in ensuring that NAMI can provide support for people experiencing mental health challenges in this moment.

Please also check in on your colleagues, neighbors, friends and loved ones, and make sure to take care of yourself. We cherish and appreciate you, and we encourage you to seek help if you need it. If you are in a crisis, text the word “NAMI” to 741741—the crisis text line.

We will get through this together.

Perspective | What you need to know if your child is depressed. (No. 1: You are not a failure.) Whether you're feeling guilty, helpless or distraught, it’s critically important to recognize your own emotions so that they don’t come out in ways that inadvertently harm your child or keep them from getting the help they need.
