Grace To Your Home
Psalm 119: 105 reads, "Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path."
The purpose of this page is to get people started in reading the Bible by posting sermons of John MacArthur and related stuff.
Then the kingdom of heaven may be compared to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’But the prudent answered, saying, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’ And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. And later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered and said, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know the day nor the hour. Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. HOW SHOULD CHRISTIAN RESPOND TO THE RIOTS?
Should Christians join the riots? In this video, John MacArthur explains why Christians can't join the riots. He also adds Christians should instead continue to respect authority, work faithfully, do good to all individuals, enjoy the life God gave us, and preach the true gospel.
The believer's hope is not in anything or anyone in this passing world. A believer's eyes should be fixed on Heaven and the coming kingdom of God.

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND THE GOSPEL, PART 4
The Jews who were taken captive to Babylon in 586 BCE blamed their forefathers for their enslavement. They even had a saying, "The fathers eat the sour grapes, but the children’s teeth are set on edge."
God, through the prophet Ezekiel who was also taken captive with them, countered by saying, "The soul who sins will die." This means a person suffers because of his or her sins and not the sins of others. God added, "But if a man is righteous and practices justice and righteousness...will surely live."
The enslaved Jews in Babylon did not repent of their sins but continued to blame their forefathers. Back and forth it went and Ezekiel never changed his message.
Like Ezekiel, Christians today should never change the Gospel's message. We should continue to clothe, shelter, feed, heal, and comfort the victims of injustices for the purpose of sharing that everyone sins and is headed to Hell. But God doesn't want anyone to go to Hell that He sent His Son Jesus Christ so all who will believe in Him will not perish but have eternal life.
Social justice has no cross, no empty tomb, no forgiveness, no Savior, and no heaven. Only the Gospel has.

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND THE GOSPEL, PART 3
The prophet Ezekiel and thousands of Jews were taken to Babylon from Judah by Nebuchadnezzar II in 597 BC in the second deportation. In Babylon, the exiled Jews blamed their ancestors for their suffering. On the other hand, Ezekiel preached they are suffering not because of their ancestors' sins but because of their sins.
Blaming others is the sinner's default. When Eve sinned, she blamed the snake. When Adam sinned, she blamed the woman God gave him. In short, Adam blamed God.
The people shouting for social justice are playing the same blame game. They are blaming everyone except themselves. Only when we accept we are at fault and turn to do good will God forgive and bless us. This is the message God sent Ezekiel to preach and this is the message the church should preach today.

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND THE GOSPEL, PART 2
Social justice is not new. After the Reformation rediscovered and preached the Gospel in the 16th century, people were saved and churches were established. It didn't take long before churches and denominations across Europe were assaulted by social concerns that became known as the social gospel. The attack did not come from outside but from inside the church. The same thing happened to the United States in the early 20th century. Pastors, churches, denominations, and schools began preaching social issues instead of the Gospel. Soon the preaching of the Gospel disappeared from these places. What we have now are big empty church buildings across Europe and the US. The same thing is happening today.
Paul said in Galatians 1:8-9, "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! Proclaiming, protecting, and defending the Gospel is the duty of every preacher and every Christian believer.

SOCIAL JUSTICE AND THE GOSPEL. PART 1
Many Christians today are saying social justice is an essential part of the gospel. They even go to the extent of saying social justice is the Gospel. Did Jesus Christ come to this world to establish social justice? Was this His primary purpose for coming here 2,000+ years ago?
Social justice is a term used back in the 18th century. Others say its usage was older. Social justice is one of those concepts with many nuances. Social justice, especially in our current times, basically boils down to the sentiment, "I suffer because others victimized me." The premise of this sentiment is, 'I am good and those who victimized me are bad." This premise differs from what Romans 3:12 says, "There is none who does good, there is not even one." There are no victims. We all are victimizers. Yes, even you who are reading this post and I who wrote it. And what does the Bible say to all of us who are bad and victimizes? Because of the eternal destruction we all are headed to, Jesus came. He came so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life writes John 3:16. This is the Gospel. Christians should clothe, shelter, feed, heal, and comfort 'victims' to tell the Gospel to them. It is not to agree with them that they are good and others are bad.

WHO'S TO BLAME FOR THE RIOTS?
The police? The government? The protesters? The people who manipulate the protesters? The media? The rest of us who sit back, watch, and comment?
It's all of us! We were all born with a sinful heart. If our sinful heart is not converted, it will cause us to wreak havoc in this world.
God gave four restrainers of our evil heart–conscience, family, government, and church. When the conscience is suppressed and defiled, the family is destroyed, the government is corrupted, and the church is polluted, expect anarchy to reign.

Sufficiency of Scripture means Scripture is the only infallible medium through which God has given us everything that is required for life and godliness. This simply means, believers should not borrow ideas from psychology to solve anxiety and depression, from marketing to sell the church, science to explain the creation of the world, etc. Why? Doing so is putting the wisdom or experience of man above the Bible. It should be the other way around. Truth derived from human wisdom or experience that is contrary to the Bible must be trashed. The Bible and nothing else is the source of truth. 'Sola Scriptura' or 'Scripture alone' is the term given to it by the Protestant Reformation of the past.

Gary Kasparov, one of the greatest if not the greatest chess grandmaster said, “The point of modern propaganda is not only to misinform or push an agenda. It is to exhaust your critical thinking so as to annihilate truth.”
Today we see the left, the right, and the center push for their own agenda. One person says this and another person says the same thing. Soon both persons join forces and are joined by other people saying the same thing. After reaching critical mass, their collective voice drowns out the few who opposes their agenda. What they are saying eventually becomes the law. This is fine as long as what is pushed is true. But most of what are being made into law today are not in the Bible and are therefore lies.

"Heaven will never be the same," Kirk Douglas said in a eulogy to Frank Sinatra. Such statements are based more on sentimentality than on the Bible. The Bible says all people, no matter how talented, rich, famous, wise, strong, beautiful, philantrophic, religious, etc. will not enter into Heaven. Romans 3:23 states, "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...." Qualifying someone's voice to enter into Heaven is putting God's perfection to a human level. Understand that the most beautiful human voice in all of history is a croak to God. All voices, from Adam to the last person to be born, are out of tune. All voices God hates and damns to eternal disharmony. But God is loving and merciful that He sent His Son to make us harmonious to Him. 1 Corinthians 5:21 writes, "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." It is only those who trusts in Jesus Christ who passes God's singing audition. Their voice, even if its a croak, becomes melodious to God. Are we still trusting our voice to make it to His eternal choir?

TRAITS OF A TRUE BELIEVER, PART 2
John 13:35 says, "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Love is the only defining mark of a true Christian. What is this love? It is the love that desires to glorify God and the love that desires the good of others. How does a true believer desire the good of others? By serving, sanctifying, and sacrificing themselves for others.

TRAITS OF A TRUE BELIEVER, PART 1
What marks a true Christian? Is it the cross worn around the neck? Is it the Bible verse splashed across the chest? Is it the Bible app downloaded to a gadget? Is it the Bible verse posted online everyday? Is it the church attendance every Sunday? Is it the Bible Study in the middle of the week? Is it the faithful performance of a church function over a number of years? Is it the baptism acquired in the past? Is it a prayer to God prayed also in the past? These are fine but do not prove a true believer. THE CHRISTIAN'S ASSURANCE OF SALVATION
"Abba! Father!" were the words of Jesus Christ during His darkest hour in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Ephesians 1:13 reads, "In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise." A person immediately receives the Holy Spirit when he or she believes in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit, who is mightier than anything and anyone, will see to it that nothing and no one will take a believer out of God's hands. In short, a believer is assured that he or she is going to Heaven. The question that arises from this statement is, "How can a person know if he or she has the Holy Spirit?" A person can know by what comes out of the mouth during his or her darkest hour. A person with the Holy Spirit will never curse or blame God. Instead, he or she will seek God's help and cry, "Abba! Father!" Galatians 4:6 says, "Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”" What do you say in your darkest hour?

DECLARING AND DEFENDING THE DEITY OF CHRIST
'What the world needs now is love, sweet love,' goes the line of a famous song. If love is the immediate need of this world, then it starts with defining love correctly.
1 John 4:8 writes, "God is love." Love can only be undestood by understanding God. John 1:18 says, "No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him." No one can understand God. By His works and words, Jesus Christ came to explain God to us. In fact, He is the explanation of God. The Bible records all of these. Therefore, to know the Bible is to know Jesus. To know Jesus is to know God. To know God is to know love. Only the person who understands the Bible has the correct understanding of love. Is your love according to the Bible?

THE WORD BECAME FLESH
'My Sweet Lord' is a song released by George Harrison in November 1970; his first as a solo artist. In his song, the line "Really wanna see you, Lord" is repeated many times. Like Harrison, many people want to see God. Looking deeper into their desire hints of an unbelief in God. Why? To them, believing in God comes only in seeing God in the flesh.
2,000 years ago, God revealed Himself physically in Jesus Christ. His disciples couldn't believe they were seeing God in the flesh! His words and miracles showed them He was God. They were so happy they left everything to be with Him. When He died, they were heartbroken. When He rose from the dead and showed Himself to them, they were so happy again. They walked, talked, and ate with Him. Thomas even touched Him. After spending several weeks with them, He left them by ascending into Heaven. This time His disciples weren't sad. Why? Though they wouldn't see God anymore, they knew God is alive because He showed Himself physically to them and promised to return physically for them. This they preached and died for. Are you trusting the words of the apostles or still wanting to see God?

What was Jesus' last public speech? What was the message of His last public address? His deity was His message. Some people view Jesus as not historically real; a fictional character. Others view Jesus as a healer and teacher. Worse is the view of Him as a joker, poser, and loser. The rest view Jesus as the epitome of morality and spirituality. Such views totally miss the point! SUPERNATURAL PEACE
Some people define peace as eating a certain food. When they eat it, they feel comforted and that is why they call it comfort food. Others define peace as doing a certain activity. When they do it, they feel recreated and that is why they call it recreation The rest define peace as going to another place. When they go somewhere else, they vacate their stress-filled place and that is why they call it a vacation.
The Bible says peace doesn't come from food, an activity, or a place. Peace doesn't come from anything in this world. It comes only from God. It is the peace Daniel experienced when he was thrown into the lions' den. It is the peace Stephen felt when he was stoned to death. It is the peace Jesus showed when he was nailed to the cross. It is tranquility in the midst of suffering. It is the peace God gives to His children. Do you have this peace?

TAKING THE MYSTERY OUT OF KNOWING GOD'S WILL
To many, knowing the will of God is a mystery. Some look for it externally like in candle waxes and clouds. Others look for it internally like in dreams and inner voices. Some look for it through tests like throwing dices or opening books. Others look for it through analyses, like reviewing life events or weighing pros and cons. Others are more direct in their search by going straight to a fortune teller.
In Taking The Mystery Our Of Knowing God's Will, John MacArthur points out God is not a God who delights in hiding His will. He is a God who openly shows His will not in clouds, voices, dreams, sticks, dices, palms, fortune tellers, etc. God manifests His will only through one thing-the Bible. John shows through Scripture that God simply has six wills for a person. and all start with the letter 'S.''S.'

HINKING BIBLICALLY ABOUT THE ECONOMY, GOVERNMENT, AND YOUR MONEY
The Bible is not only a spiritual book. It is also a practical one. It is not concerned only about Heaven. It is also concerned about this world. The Bible gives many practical truths to believers on how to live in this world. These truths are not for a believer to go to Heaven but for a believer to shine for God to attract unbelievers to Him.
In Thinking Biblically About The Economy, Government, And Your Money, John MacArthur shows it is very difficult or impossible to survive in this world. The nice thing is the Bible gives practical truths to make living in this world easy and triumphant.

THE UNIQUENESS OF OUR RESURRECTION BODIES
The Bible promises a body, not only a spirit, for believers after they die. Greek religious philosophers say otherwise. They believe matter is evil and spirit is good. When a person dies, the body descends to the ground, decomposes, and disappears. On the otherhand, the spirit is discharged up to dissolve into the universal deity. Some Jewish rabbis believe the body will be resurrected but it will return exactly the same.
In The Uniqueness Of Our Resurrection Bodies, John MacArthur shows through Scripture the bodies of believers will be changed into something new. It will be strong, fast, wise, and radiant. It can pass through walls and yet be touched. It will eat, think, and talk. Most of all, it will never be corrupted. It will be perfect. The resurrected bodies of believers will be the greatest creation of God.

THE FULL FORCE OF THE RESURRECTION
The resurrection of Jesus Christ accomplishes many powerful things. Because of these achievements, Satan discredits Christ's resurrection so people will not believe in Him to receive these powerful things.
In The Full Force Of The Resurrection, John MacArthur presents through Scripture the resurrection of Jesus Christ proves the Bible is true, Jesus is God, His death is successful, and the church is real. Most of all, John shows the resurrection of Jesus Christ guarantees a coming new heaven and earth where there will be no wars, poverty, sickness, death, sadness, pain, turmoil, and sin for all believers. For those who do not believe in Him, the resurrection of Jesus Christ gives Him the authority to cast them to Hell.

HOW GOD BURIED HIS SON
Not much is preached or taught about the burial of Jesus making Christians receive little to no turths from it.
In How God Buried His Son, John MacArthur shows God orchestrating every detail of Jesus' burial to fulfill everything He said in the Old Testament about the funeral of His Son. In showing the fulfillment of these details, the truths that Jesus is the unblemished lamb of God, Jesus is really dead, Jesus is a King, and God is in control of everything are proven. Most of all, John shows in burying HIs Son, God was covering every bases to dismiss all future explanations of the empty tomb except a resurrected Christ.

PROPHECIES FULFILLED AT CALVARY
Genesis 3:14 reads,
"And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;

And you shall bruise him on the heel.”
This is the first prophecy of God of the Savior in the Bible. A descendant of Eve will come who will crush the head of Satan. God does not only prophesy about the coming of Jesus the Messiah but also prophesies details about His birth to His death.
In Prophecies Fulfilled At Calvary, John MacArthur shows through Scripture that every detail in the judgement to the crucifixion of Jesus were prophesied in the Old Testament. The fulfillment of these prophesies were to point unmistakably to Jesus as the prophesied Savior of the World. Moreso, it shows God keeps what He says. So if God says all people are sinners and everyone has to repent of sins and turn to His Son or burn in Hell, then everyone should better believe it.

SAVED OR SELF-DECEIVED, PART TWO
Matthew 7: 24-27 write, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall."
In this second part of Saved or Self-Deceived, John MacArthur points out through Scripture that the difference between false and true believers is not in the rain, flood, and wind. It's not even in the Word both received, the house, and in the way both built. The difference is in the foundation they built on. So what is the difference between both foundations?
