Finally got these in the post! I bought these from a local Hawaiian painter (Frances Wong) to have a little bit of Oahu with me when I left. That was a few months ago now and I packed them in a box almost as soon as I got them! What a nice surprise this morning 🥰🥰
Just popping on to say how happy I am to have access to my account again and I will be posting a lot more frequently now that I can actually get into it!!
The extent of my collage abilities 😂. But I wonder if dedicating an entire journal (a small one maybe) might be the way to get me of my comfort zone when it comes to collage. What do you think?
One of my big goals before my visa is approved is to finish this art journal. I’ve been working on it since 2019 and I’m STILL not done. It’s gotten me through the pandemic, a lot of transitions, an international move and now is helping me just wait. I’ve got about two months left to wait, do you think I’ll finish by then?
When you’re obsessed with a countertop but have no memory of where you took the photo.
I have a goal to finish my art journal in the remaining 14 weeks I’m here (😱💀) but I’ve not been very good at actually working in it every day. So today before starting work, I made a background for a new page and paint on my hands. Thinking this may need to be part of my morning ritual.. what do you think?
Apparently my taste it photography hasn’t changed formally in the last ten years.
Question: Should I try to recreate this on a canvas?
Peering into the windows of my 11 years in Hong Kong.

Current mood = Swirly
This page took me SO LONG TO COMPLETE. I just didn't have the right mindset and I built it over time. A lot of days where I just stared at it and then when I was finally ready, it just came together. Funny how that happens!
Inspiration finds you anywhere, even a random square on pavement you see accidentally.
Let's make some flowers today. You just need some watercolor and a pen.
The banyan trees are very much the beating heart of Hong Kong and i will always miss their roots wandering all over the city.
One of those days that I’m REALLY missing my HK crew and the decade of HK Stories we made together.
Today's Prompt: Next time you're in the car or on a bus, try drawing a row of lines as straight as you can. You'll capture the movement of your journey.

It's a doodle kind of day. What are you doodling today?
Morning painting session in my makeshift Manoa studio.
Currently living for this art installation.
All of our boxes from Hong Kong have finally come through relatively unscathed! Now time for my biometrics tomorrow and this visa is officially officially underway 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Her hair is full of secrets.
Today's Prompt: Make a background and cut out words from a magazine that jump out at you.
My go-to when I’m stressed out is always art making. And it’s been a really stressful few months that unfortunately culminated in losing access to my account which is just (not the absolute worst but ) not what I really wanted to deal with on top of everything else.
I’m hoping I can get it back but let this serve as a reminder to back up your devices and online accounts, get 2FA in a code generator not SMS and make sure every password you use is complex and different!
My main account has been hacked and I’m not sure I can get access to this again. For now all of my updates will be here and I’ll update as much as I can but please please please make sure your data is secure and don’t answer any messages from me.
Today’s prompt: when you’re feeling overwhelmed, try repeating a pattern like this one. Don’t think too hard about it just keep repeating a pattern and try to clear out some of those thoughts swirling about.
One of my favourite paintings by my cousins .erny and Ben Erny. It’s always felt comforting to me and for some reason feels like I’m on a lot southern porch looking out into the night. I love iiiit!
If you are still in Hong Kong, go to and spend time in Katie’s studio! I’m so thankful to have a HK journal that represents all of the experiences, memories, firsts, lasts, careers, friends and everything inbetween.. That's what is for me.
