Soul wins over seemingly impossible odds.

You are going to read a heart moving story of a man whose life is approaching towards the end and the inspiring courage of his daughter who stood strong even the chances for her father survival clearly indicates it is slipping away.

Think of this: A normal platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood. My father Mr. Antonio Gerarcas platelet drops to a critical level – 9,000 to be exact. Time was clearly running away to save his dear life and the path towards the end becomes inevitable and unshakeable in the minds of all his attending Physicians. What seems to be the end of the rope, “SOUL” timely intervention was all it takes why he lives today.

My name is Elsa Montenegro. I am a Police Officer in Caraga region. SOUL made a difference in the life of my father and how he surpassed the worst chapter of his life gives me a sense of purpose to write his story hoping that those who are thinking of no way out may find hope and for skeptics to discover what SOUL can do.

Fast Forward ----

2018 we brought our father from Surigao to Cebu Chung Hua Hospital for kidney stones operation. We left the hospital with a whopping 120k bills.

January 2019, another uphill battle was about to unfold. He was so tired most of the time. He could not sit anymore. We let him lay on bed all the time. Nosebleed, overwhelming fatigue, difficulty in breathing, body pains, recurring fever and infections mark his day to day living.

We brought him back to the hospital. During the ultrasound the doctors suspected that my father contacted Schistosomiasis. Liver Cirrhosis was also developing. Difficulty in breathing 8also manifest which according to his doctor could be a sign that he has heart problem considering his advance age when more illnesses will emerge eventually.

While he was confined in the hospital, he was infected with Dengue. His platelets drops to critical level from 16,000 down to 9,000. 12 bags of blood transfusion was administered to him. He could not speak anymore, he could not eat and the worst of them all, we were told by the attending physician that it is better for us to discharge my father from the hospital for there are no medication available to treat the various illnesses he has been diagnosed. It was frightening pronouncement. It means the life of my father swing out of control.

God knows how much we love our Tatay. I made an appeal to the doctor to please allow us to stay a little longer in confinement at least there are oxygen, dextrose and medical team to aid us while my father still fighting for his life.

How God met me in the midst of my father little hope for survival was very unusual. NUP Jovie from Butuan City, Agusan del Sur, posted Rain Soul in her facebook account. With little explanation, I was sold out that SOUL could be the answer. She then willingly sent to me 7 sachet of SOUL. She asked me to call Mr. Shir Ortiz, a Rain distributor in Cebu City. I talked with this fellow over the phone and decided to buy a box of SOUL. He told me to give my father 1 sachet every three hours. I faithfully follow his instruction, 1 sachet every three hours. After my father consumed the 7 sachet of SOUL, a glimpse of hope manifested in his appearance . He was able to sit again. When his blood platelet was examined, it goes up close to normal level. After one week of three sachet every three hours, my father was able to talk again. He started to ask for food to eat. After two weeks, he was discharged from the hospital. The doctor told us, your father will remain bedridden and recovery time will be one year. We went home full of joy because my Tatay looks good and for the first time after 10 years we can celebrate his birthday outside the hospital.

May 2019, three months after he was discharge from the hospital, we went back for check up. The doctor could not believed with the laboratory result. All is normal. My father was no longer in wheelchair. He can walk and no aches and pain whatsoever in his system. One of the comforting statement of the doctor that made us smile was this: "What I am amused with the lab test result is the heart of your father; His heart functions like a heart of a teenager."
