We live at the intersection of movement and filmmaking, inviting site-specific, media-specific work demonstrating thoughtful collaborations between moving bodies and film to apply.

We hear the term "arts entrepreneurship" used so often nowadays. It seems like a simple concept. But things are not as clear cut as they seem. Here is my take on the issue of the meaning and purpose of arts entrepreneurship:

The 2021 SDF Production Grant is now accepting applications Applications are now open for the 2021 SDF Production Grant, a vital resource for Southern filmmakers from diverse backgrounds. Five filmmakers will be awarded $10,000 each.

1. Music Forward Foundation will present “All Access Fest,” the only free career fair for youth devoted to music industry careers on Sept 30, 2021.

All Access Fest offers young people, ages 16-24, information, tools, access, and opportunity to follow their dreams of a career in the music industry, spark discovery, and map pathways to success. The virtual career expo will allow youth from all 50 states and countries around the world to participate in panel discussions, hands-on technical learning stations, experiential lounges, and artist and career feedback sessions. Participants will also gain direct access to industry professionals from major entertainment companies like House of Blues, Live Nation, Ticketmaster, Concord, and more; and engagement opportunities with local employers and representatives from colleges and universities.

2. Music Forward Office Hours (the first session was last Friday, but you can still register and participate in the next 3 sessions):

Office Hours are intended for individuals between the ages of 16-24. Please refrain from registering if you do not meet this requirement.

Why wait for tomorrow to prepare for your future career in the music industry? Join us for a series of Friday afternoons to receive exclusive access to music industry professionals who will help you to define your career path during 90 minute workshops and a one-hour mentorship session. Each Office Hour will include professionals that represent a variety of career pathways within the music industry.

Fall 2021 Office Hours take place at 2:00 PM (PST)/4:00 PM (CST)/5:00 PM (EST) on the following dates: Friday, September 10th, 17th, 24th and October 1st, 2021.

To reserve your place in Office Hours, you must register and select the dates that you are available. While attendance at all sessions is not required, it is strongly recommended.

Based on capacity, you will receive a confirmation from Music Forward within one week of your registration. The confirmation will include event date(s) and details, and your Zoom link. Please note, due to limited capacity for Office Hours, priority will be given to those who register early.

The College of Creative Arts' Creative Consultant Program matches outstanding creative arts students with extraordinary professionals in the fields of art, design, music, theatre, dance, and arts education, administration and industry. Consultants are alumni and friends of the WVU College of Creative Arts who want to give back to our college with guidance, advice, and expertise in a variety of artistic disciplines.
Applicants must complete the online application by 4pm on Friday, September 10th. There are a limited number of placements available and the program is competitive. The program is open to College of Creative Arts sophomores through graduate students. You will be notified by Monday, October 4th if you are selected to participate in the program.

WVU students are encouraged to apply for the April Arts Festival & Pitch competition held by the Morris L. Hayhurst Launchlab from April 16th to April 22nd, 2021.
