"GARDENS de GALLIPOLI "

My official participation to the AUS MIXOLOGY OPEN 2021.

Let's honour those who have served, and remember those who have given their lives in service during the WWI conflicts, in particular during the 1915 Gallipoli campaign.

Here, the forces represented:
-Bundaberg small batch reserve rum (Australia )
-Pimm's (United Kingdom)
-Benedictine DOM (France)
-1883 kiwi syrup (New Zealand)
-Sour cherry juice opponent (Turkey - former Ottaman Empire).

I know how weak and fruitless must be my attempt to recreate the taste of such an overwhelming tragedy. Nevertheless, an hardy temper couldn't refrain me from tendering you with my mixologist cocktail foundation. Such as a symbol of times where the continental powers had the back of each others...

The warm palate of those allied spirits, the profund "Kia Kaha" note enhanced by the 1883 kiwi syrup; an infusioned fragrance of macadamia, mandarine, bay trees.. All those flavors combined but still futile against the finish overun of the sour cherry juice.

ANZAC legacy, the "Gardens de Gallipoli" is a dedicated cocktail to remember: an olfactory consolation who does leave us with a peacefull appreciation as a discerning drinker. May this cocktail plunge us in the history of Dardanelles campaign; a savouries experience and help us to keep up with the sense to remember every lessons from the Great War !

Happy as Larry you will be when you will have your first POLOLO.
Spring is at the corner and the Polo season is about to kick off. Imagine yourself, appreciating the view of those equine athletes mounted by exceptionnal horseman. The chukkers going by but... how to immunised yourself against the thirst?🤤 🤔
It is how the "Pololo" found his birth inspiration. This cocktail - polo mallet size- carry on the vital refreshing answer. But how is he saddle up 🧐:

Angostura bitters
1883 cinnamon syrup
Routin white sweet vermouth
James Squire Orchard Crush Apple

Noticeable accent of apple, flowers, spice and fresh herbs dominate this cocktail - such a relieve during those warm afternoon, enjoying the battle of the horses champion playing the sports of the kings.

But what else is POLOLO:
- In Chilean word, Pololo stand for "boyfriend". Might be subject of sarcasm for such events carrying so much youth available for the right match :)
- Pololo as well in spanish word figure a type of pants, generally white and trendingly worn by the youth or stalysh ladies.

2020, when covid lockdown Australia I decided to challenge myself becoming a shearer and as well pay for my EBS Bartending school in Sydney.
September 2021, I am back in the Shed, handpiece in the hand and while I am shearing I still. Think about cocktail and dream but most of it, deep in my heart: how to extend the great taste of diplomatico reserva exclusive? ♥️😋♥️😋♥️

Here a little saying about life in the shed:

"Work all week and knock off at 5.00 o'clock on Sunday afternoon and have the rest of the weekend off."

THE DRIZZLE

Commonly a rain of mixing ingredients make a cocktail. But sometimes subtility require a gentle drizzle instead of storming the liquids in a recipient.
Because going to the woods is like going home, the Drizzle manage to be singular by its smell, a smooth palate and a clear water appearance.
Gin Opihr, vermouth, citrus, lavender, tonic, a perfect amouur combination. Simple and ordinarily stirred.
By the end, the Drizzle might be your first, particular idea about what can be the taste of fresh morning in a preserved forest.

Pet betta fish, Betta splendens, are often marketed by pet stores as easy starter fish, but they require more specialized care than many realize.

A thank you will not be enough when you see the delivery at your door from those legends from door knock.
Must appreciated and in particular all the healthy and ingredients.

"SPLENDENS NEGRONI"

It is my pleasure to introduce the "Splendens Negroni", a password to the 21st century.
Scarlet color as the Betta Splendens; a fish that fight to establish its territory and ensure access to food, shelter and females. In short a James Bond figure.
September 2021 will be the release of the Ian fleming novel last opus. Subject of many talks as to who would endorse the troubleshooter character. These debates inspired me to lead the creation of the "Splendens". As for fact, its gender is hardly identifiable if you are unaware about fish colorimetry under freshwater.

The Splendens does not give up on apperance, whatever the circumstances. Dress code?

30ml Campari
20ml Specht Pampelmuse
10ml Grand Marnier
10ml Stolichnaya Elit Vodka

Garnish:
- 3 sprays of 1883 popcorn syrup
- pick 1 salted popcorn + 2 maraschino cherries

There is no time to die, and even if it was the case, there is no excuse not to savor a "Splendens Negroni", a popcorn dropping moment, for the indomitable spirits.

"ARGYLINE de JAIPUR"

In 1876, the Prince of Wales and Queen Victoria visited India on a tour. Since pink denotes the color of hospitality, Maharaja Ram Singh of Jaipur painted the whole city pink in color to welcome the guests.
As it has been done before, nothing better than the pink city to celebrate the Argyle rare pink diamod.
