The Art of Joji Roper Todd
My art is meant to be whimsical and a little irreverent at times. Color is my passion.....
Latest painting in her new home.
It's been 10 months since I've picked up a paintbrush, but today I finished a small painting to get my bearings back. It was hard to get a good picture because I'm still shaky and don't have steady hands, which could work to my advantage in my painting since I've always wanted to work in a looser style and what better way.
I'm not afraid to show it.
I've finished her.
Working on this slowly but surely.
Starting is everything.
Re-did this one a bit. After looking at it awhile it needed more balance. I think I have that now.
"Evil Eyes"
I finished.
I love how it came out too. Don't have a clever title yet, I'll have to ponder that. Its a 24"×36" acrylic on canvas.
Finished her but forgot to post. Its called "I love you a bushel and a peck" 20x20 acrylic on canvas. DM if interested.
Inspired to do another
This painting evolved as I imagined. I wanted it to feel childlike and I think it captures that feeling.
The collage saga continues.
Painted paper circles.
It has no end!
I had to touch it up a little to make sure I felt it was just right.
It's signed and titled
"Fireworks"
She is finished.
Finished this sweet pup this week. On it's way to it's new home. Thank you Juli.
Finally got back to this one. I've been working on a commission of the cutest pup.
This is 24"×36" and grand in person.
More to do but she's getting there.
Still working on this one. Need to put it aside and contemplate my direction.
New one on the easel.
Got some better pics taken with a good camera.
What a difference. You can see the true colors especially after I got them varnished.
My studio is small and packed to the gills. But I'm slowing amassing some work to do a show.
After viewing the painting on my page it's easy to see the areas that need attention. Even the smallest. So I've corrected what I felt was wrong.
Another reworked from last year. I love the way it turned out.
Lots of vibrancy in this one.
Finished
Another one reworked. They sit in my studio until I get inspiration. Which usually is just sit down and start.
After 2 days of reworking this one I'm done. Wish I could get better shots.
Need to cut out hundreds, no thousands of hand painted circles for some mixed media work.
This was a make over of an older painting.
I just couldn't let it stay the way it was.
Finished these two mixed media 8"×10"
Worked on this today. Its hand painted collaged circles to mimic hydrangeas.
Latest painting on handmade wood frame.
Another 8x10 quickie.
Feeling a little crabby. It's back to school in 1 day.
