The Dallas Food Project
Hello! We are The Dallas Food Project, a non-profit aimed at helping feed the homeless in Fort Worth and occasionally participating in other volunteer events.
It's a little late but we are so happy we were able to help with the Toy Drive hosted by Fort Worth FiveLoaves Twofish-Outreach! While weren't able to come in person, we contributed gifts that were donated to us by the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program. Tons of toys and bikes were distributed just in time for Christmas. It's so amazing to see such a lively event happening for the community.
Last week was great! In addition to the food we normally distribute, we also brought out tons of fantastics drinks provided by SOS International. Recently, we've also been looking at how much food we've distributed since starting The Dallas Food Project and found out we've served 1500+ meals. That is absolutely fantastic and we're so happy we've had the opportunity to do something so important!
!!!
Last time we went out was super exciting! We brought out fresh mac and cheese and it was an instant hit. People came back for second and it was all around a super successful day! Super grateful to be able to work with an amazing group and serve such kind people.
Last week was a success! We gave out tons of meals and continue to serve to the best of our ability.
Debrah Nickerson continues to serve fantastic plates of food (delivered by OMG Southern Cakes and Catering by ChefFee Guimont) every week. This time, Allison Smith Nowell was helping serve and has been incredibly helpful.
Donna Watkins and Vickie Jones created survival bags that will be no doubt be used in the following week.
Jandell Turner from Golden Goddesses SC came out and served
Dee Saunders with Project Addullam Outreach distributed clothes, shoes, and more.
Patricia Rigsby-Scott also picked up a donation of alcohol wipes, allowing everybody to get a pack as well as a bottle of hand soap.
It is such an amazing honor to serve this community.
We're back to giving out food!!!
In the last three weeks we've given out about a hundred fantastic hot meals to our friends in Fort Worth. Once again, we served pasta and hot dogs which continue to be popular but we're looking into serving other items some time soon.
The last two times we went out, the areas we served were wet and rainy and yet people still came out to get food, and I think it goes to show how important these meals really are for some people. We are incredibly proud to serve knowing this.
Thanks to Debrah Nickerson Vickie Jones Donna Watkins with Five loaves and Fwfiveloaves Twofish-Outreach, Dee Saunders Project Adullam Ministries Inc., and ChefFee Guimont.
Working with y'all every 2 weeks is a highlight of the month.
WE ARE BACK!!! It's been a few months but we are back in Dallas and proud to help out the community. Last Sunday we volunteered at an amazing event where tons of school supplies, books, and toys were distributed to many young kids for the upcoming school year.
We are honored to have had the opportunity to serve with great organizations like Citi Girlz Car Club, Fwfiveloaves Twofish-Outreach, and Jaden Cares. The people in these organizations are all incredible.
We will be back to serving food soon!
Happy Mother's Day everybody! This is a double post for the last two times we went out. Once again these past few weeks were amazing and we were able to serve so many people along with many other organizations such as Fort Worth Five Fish and Two Loaves Ministries, Chef Felicia A. Guimont, OMG Cakes & Southern Best Catering, LLC, Marc Ingram, Dee Saunders Project Adullam Outreach, Ola Bennett, Vickie Jones, and Donna Watkins. We are a relatively new non profit, but it's been an honor to work with such a dedicated and kind group of people that has truly helped us immensely. We also want to thank Deborah Nickerson for making us shirts this week! We will definitely be rocking those next time we come out!
Last week was an amazing! We were able to give out tons of food and snacks, like rice cakes and coffee, to the homeless. Pizza seemed to be a hit with everybody! With other organizations like OMG Cakes & Southern Best Catering, LLC providing chicken and rice, Vickie Jones and volunteers putting together hydration kits of ten bottled water and other drinks, Mariah Frink Ola Bennett bringing clothes and shoes, and Donna Watkins giving out non perishables to last the rest of the week, the weekend was exceptional!
This week we want to give a big thank you to SOS International for providing everything we put in the bags this week. It was the first time we had done it and they were instrumental in making it a possibility. We look forward to working with them in the future!
We’ll be giving out pizza this week!
This post is coming a little bit late but last Sunday was an absolute success! Thankfully there was no rain, and together with Forth Worth Five Loaves and Two Fish Outreach, Pastor Dee Saunders Project Adullam Outreach, and OMG Cakes & Southern Best Catering LLC, we were able to give out food and clothes to people in need. Hotdogs continue to be an absolute hit with everybody and we will definitely keep bringing them!
