how did we make it to half way through this year already?
it’s been such a busy one for me; i’m still catching up with all the changes! from a job i wasn’t enjoying, to a job that has renewed my passion for nursing. in addition to this ive completed my 200 YTT with the wonderful and topped up with a little yin qualification too! not forgetting all the wonderful reiki treatment i have been lucky to share with so many people
as we move towards the summer (we hope!) i do hope that you are all able to find some time, even the smallest amount, to draw back your energy and replenish yourself. don’t forget to drink water (it’s boring, but it really does help) and also try and move your body in a way that feels good for you… a walk, a run, a dance.,, anything to get that subtle energy moving and those endorphins flowing.

balance
having been on what feels like a bit of a quest for “balance” over the last few years has in fact been a lack of feeling grounded. holding myself to rigid and often unachievable routines in many areas of life to seek balance, i would then find myself feeling unable to achieve much or truly move forwards.
ive come to realise (notice, observe, feel and do) that living and moving more intuitively, paying attention to grounding practices, has cleared space to allow a greater feeling of balance. i can flow through the tasks that need to be completed without a sense of punishment or failure lurking.

malasana
due to the deep hip opening in this asana, both the root and the sacral chakra are stimulated within the subtle body. in the physical body, this pose benefits the hips, lower back and digestive system.
funny to think that once upon a time we would have likely spent a lot of time sitting like this - however it’s not uncommon to find this difficult! It’s an asana that is a struggle for me and has come a long way from a couple of years ago! progress not perfection though, eh.

activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) and switching from the fight and flight response allows a little chance for our bodies to catch up with themselves.
this also allows for intentional movement of subtle energy around the body, something i’m learning everyday is a powerful tool when used with intention.
both yoga and reiki can assist with parasympathetic nervous activation and promote positive changes to our neural pathways leading to overall improved wellbeing.

finally the universe has cleared some space to allow me to share some of my teaching with those who feel called.
these sessions will be aimed at making the hour a sanctuary in which we aim for parasympathetic nervous system activation, promoting reset and relaxation. this will be a 4 week course for an investment of £24 or £7 drop in.
this will be suitable for all levels, and i really would love it if you could join me.
