We got a new Micky waffle maker! It makes 6 waffles at once and Luke loves it! Just like the ones at Disney! We used Deanna’s Gluten Free waffle mix, which I heard is what they use at Disney..it is beyond delicious! It’s a must try! (Customer service was great as well! Super fast shipping!) , , , ,

There is nothing like finding a safe gluten free ice cream shop! Thank you Skipper Dipper In LBI, NJ! Look at this ice cream! They keep new ice cream containers in the back just for people with celiac and other allergies, and they change gloves etc. They were so accommodating! , , , ,

If you ever travel to the Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania, you MUST stop by the Trackside Grill & Bar in East Stroudsburg, PA. The owner, Michael, has celiac disease and went above and beyond to accommodate our gluten free requests. I wish I took more/better pictures to share but we were so excited about the food and atmosphere! Luke started off with Buffalo wings and then had chicken tenders and a burger roll (yes, a burger roll, he was so happy to eat bread) The food was incredible. We had a BIG birthday in the No Glu Tube house yesterday! Luke turned 10! We celebrated with winning a baseball game (Luke’s hit a bomb that was inches from being a home run!), a nice steak lunch then a party with his buds. Gluten free ice cream cake from Wegmans-Abilyn’s! Happy May everyone! May is celiac awareness month! Thinking of my Luke and anyone else who suffers with this disease. A few grocery stores will have special gluten free items this month, in particular Aldi! Can’t wait to go and check it out. I will post whatever I find!

Today we made Easter sugar cookies with Wegman’s gluten free sugar cookie mix & Pillsbury Funfetti icing! SO EASY! My little men loved baking and they turned out great! , , , , ,

Luke made me breakfast “at work” today! 🥰I was shocked when he opened my office door and came in with this! All GF, of course! (Boarshead bacon, Canyon Bake House Hawaiian bread with Aldi sweet cream salted butter!) He even cut off the crusts 😊 Breakfast doesn’t get any better than this!

BOTTOM LINE

General Mills has always been transparent with Gluten Free Watchdog about the protocols used for gluten-free Cheerios. And for this, we are truly appreciative. However, Gluten Free Watchdog cannot in good conscience recommend gluten-free Cheerios. This is due largely to the testing protocol followed by General Mills versus our recent test results. Because General Mills uses sorted oats*, testing protocols take on added importance as a benchmark of oat safety. We truly wish General Mills would adopt a testing protocol similar to the one followed by Quaker Oats, another manufacturer also using sorted oats in labeled gluten-free foods.

*Sorted oats are traditionally grown (standard) oats that undergo a mechanical and or optical screening at the mill to remove gluten-containing grain based on a variety of grain properties (e.g., size and color).
