Freelancing is becoming increasingly popular as workers are drawn to the flexibility and freedom it provides. But did you know that freelancing has unique tax implications? Whether you freelance full-time or on the side, you’re going to want to read this before tax season: https://lib.tax/3zaYRgs

Attention Taxpayers:

This tax year is extremely different from past years. There are many new credits the IRS is putting in place just for this filing season.

When choosing a tax preparer, make sure they are up to date with all the new tax credits so you don't leave any money left on the table.

The main two that have been released so far is the form 7202 for the self employed, and the look back credit for all tax payers.

Here at One Stop Taxes, we have a team at our corporate office in Atlanta that do nothing but watch for new credits and research them thoroughly. Then they pass all the information on to all Store Owners.

I have openings for Virtual and In Person visits.
Located next to the Edgemont Post Office.

ATTENTION EARLY TAX FILERS!

The IRS has been adding new credits almost daily. We suggest waiting to filing, even for Cash Advances until the IRS is done adding new credits to the 2020 system. This will happen anytime between now and when the IRS officially opens on or around January 25, 2021. If you file now, even for a cash advance, your taxes are filed with the IRS. If the release a new credit you are eligible for, you will have to amend your return. Your tax preparer will then again, charge you more money to amend that return.

Treasury and IRS to delay tax payment deadline by 90 days 17/03/2020

Treasury and IRS to delay tax payment deadline by 90 days Taxpayers are about to get a three-month reprieve to pay income taxes owed, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said at a news conference Tuesday.

Some of the things to expect from the IRS:

✅ Verify identity: You will need your prior & the current year returns in front of you, W2s and if you filed schedule C they will ask about the type of business. Have that in front of you BEFORE calling the number. If you don’t verify properly, you will need to schedule a face-to-face interview at the local IRS office. After completing the verification process, the hold is lifted & your refund should be released within 4 weeks or less.(normally 14 days)

✅ Wage verification: The IRS is verifying your wages to make sure the employer reported the correct amount & the w2 filed match what is on the return. It doesn't mesn anything is wrong, this is just an additional process under THE PATH ACT.

✅Still being reviewed: The return is in review. Normally your refund should be released within 21 days or less. If you haven't received your refund, the IRS can review the return for an additional 30 days or mail a letter to you.

✅Take Action:The IRS will release a portion of your refund (not EIC) or HOH & freeze the remainder until you provide proof. More than likely you claimed dependents, EIC/ACTC,need to prove income or BOTH. So, the same information you turned in to file, the birth certificates, school records, utility or house 1098 interest, ID cards, medical records, proof of disability, business cards, expense sheets, bank statements or receipts should already be ready to turn it. If a letter is sent the IRS requires you to prove everything on the return.

✅ Marketplace Insurance: Although insurance is no longer required if you had Marketplace (Example: Ambetter) Insurance any part of the year, you are required to bring your 1095a form when filing your return. IF YOU DO NOT YOUR REFUND WILL BE DELAYED & the IRS will mail a letter stating the documents needed:
1040x
1095A
8962 form along with the letter mailed by the IRS. It is important that you file your Marketplace Insurance form.

✅ If you owe an IRS debt or have any offsets your refund may be reduced or applied to past due debts. If your whole refund is applied to past due debts YOUR PREPARER DOES NOT GET PAID.

✅ The IRS will NEVER call you, if you receive a call it is a scammer. Do not give them any information report the number.

Please call me if you receive a
letter from the IRS or from State Tax Commission & please be advised all letters are time sensitive.

No income= Nothing to Refund you

Income= Cash payments, PayPal, Cash App or Debit/Credit Card transactions for a service you have provided....You are considered Self-Employed.
