IMEE MARCOS | A sitting senator of the Republic of the Philippines, Maria Imelda Josefa Remedios Romualdez Marcos proved to the world that good governance and kindness can change the tides.

She released her first cookbook "Pinakbest" in December 2022 to honor the Marcos family history and their love for homemade meals.

SINAGOT ni Ilocos Norte Representative Sandro Marcos ang naunang pagtutol ni Senator Imee Marcos hinggil sa panukalang sovereign wealth fund ng Pilipinas na tatawaging Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF).

Nauna kasing sinabi ni Sen. Imee na kinakabahan ito sa sinusulong na panukala dahil hindi napapanahon ang paglikha ng sovereign wealth fund ngayong malaki ang utang ng Pilipinas.

“Ako, kinakabahan sapagkat sa panahong ito na ang sama ng ekonomiya, pati ang World Bank sabi bagsak na bagsak sa susunod na taon sa 2023. Sa kalagitnaan, lalala pa raw. Diyos ko! Papaano na lang tayo,” saad ng senadora.

Ginawa naman ni Sen. Imee ang paunang komento noong hindi pa niya nababasa ang nilalaman ng MIF.

Ang komentong iyon ay welcome development kay Rep. Sandro dahil lalong mapagtitibay ang panukala at ang safeguards na pinalalagay ng kanyang tiyahin ay mailalagay.

“I think it’s good that she has reservations about the bill because it makes sure that the legislation is more robust. It ensures that the safeguard that she was worried about are actually put up,” ani Rep. Sandro.

Nagkaroon ng ‘Picture Remake’ si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng larawan ng kanyang yumaong ama na si dating Pangulong Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.

Ginawa ito sa loob ng headquarters ng International Rice Researce Institute (IRRI) sa Los Baños, Laguna ngayong araw, Nobyembre 29.

Senator Imee R. Marcos, during the hybrid hearing of the Commission on Appointments (CA) Wednesday, November 23, 2022 on the ad interim appointment of former Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin as executive secretary, questions the slow rollout of appointments to key positions in various government agencies such as at the Department of Health (DOH) and other priority areas. Marcos also asked Bersamin on how this administration intended to address the matter since there are several positions that have been on hold over capacity until December 31, 2022. “I am certain that you can get a handle on this situation but it is almost half a year now and the people expect a level of urgency and commitment to filling up all these positions, some of them are very high and of urgent priority,” Marcos said. “I believe that the executive secretary is well qualified and I endorse his appointment,” she added. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized the role of scientists, researchers, and engineers in building a “more informed, more inclusive, and more prosperous nation” at the opening ceremony of the National Science and Technology Week held at the World Trade Center today, November 23.

Following the acknowledgment, the President assured the scientific community of his administration’s firm dedication to “championing” science and technology research, developing data-driven policies, and adopting evidence-based solutions to secure a better future for Filipinos.
