Creamy grits make with cream cheese.
Grits go with eggs for breakfast , pork chops, fried chicken, and shrimp. The secret is cooking them a long time- at least 35 minutes.
I was raised on grits.

Lacy Cornbread and leftovers -y’all remember- YOU HAVE TO USE PLAIN STONE GROUND CORNMEAL- ( fine grind if you can find it. ) it will not work with self risen cornmeal.

Corn Dip - everyone will love this delicious dip and they will come back for more. I used 4 jalapeñoes and I was the perfect amount. You’ve got to try it. But remember don’t double this recipe unless you are expecting a ton of guest.

Muscadine’s and scupper nonce they are a delicious fruit. The juice is fantastic. What do you do with yours other than just eat them? Do you eat the husk like I do or spit them out like George. ?? Let me know.

Spring is here. Our mouth scarves a cool refreshing drink. My drink of choice is tea !!
I guess yard work and getting my hands in the soil is in my blood. Some of my fondest memories is being outside with my parents doing things in the yard. Yes, Mama served tea with every yard work experience. She’d bring the whole pitcher outside with a bunch of tin glasses. They were so cold in my hand. I can remember Daddy raring back and drink his tea with one long drink then pouring another glass. Life was good. I remember one time we were invited by some friends to come to their home for supper. They served water with the meal. We were in SHOCK !! I still remember it to this day.
Getting back to my story- I cut back my boxwoods because they were getting to big. If you cut them in 8 inch pieces and put them down in some soil ( I put them in big flower pots) and keep them watered they will root. I root lots of plants roses too.

Creamed Potatoes

The most important thing about creamed potatoes is keeping the bowl nice and hot. Use hot milk and hot butter. Never serve them cold and hard.
Never put the butter in until you have creamed the well. Last ingredient is milk. You can’t measure this just pour until they are nice a fluffy.

Bay is my oldest grandchild and her family came over here after church for Dinner. Since She was home from Ole Miss -her college of choice. I told her she could pick the menu for Sunday .

Good morning sweet friends. The yard is in full bloom. Spring has come !! A fresh start. The winter is pasted. Now let’s get up, wake up and work in the yard. Plant something , even if it’s just in an old bucket. Remember to let the children plant something too. It teaches them about life, beauty,caring,needs and the gift of life itself. The Lord has been might good to us all. He has given eternal life to all who come to Him in faith as their Lord and savior. Just like the flower that blooms for a while then fades away - so is our life here on earth. We are just passing through. Heaven is my eternal home. How about you?

After a big Easter meal, egg hunt and Sun Rise worship service you will be tired for sure. So, the next day cook you a pot of good dry beans with your leftover ham bone, Hot Water cornbread on a slice of onion. That’s all you need for a great meal.

Here I come ! My water problem should be fixed by tomorrow. I Can’t wait to take a shower at my own home. Home is my favorite place to be and I will be lathering up with my favorite soap. Washing my hair in it too.

My windows must have a glare because birds fly into them all the time.
I’ve also had birds fight with the side view mirror on my truck when they saw their on reflection in it. One time I had a wood pe**er try to build his home in the outside wall of my house.

The picture at the very end of this video has been a friend of mine for over 50 years. I was in my 20’s when we first met. How faithful is our love for one another. I took her and her sweet husband a plate of food from our event. They both are home bound now and unable to come to church. They both miss worshipping with fellow believers.
Are y’all attending a church. If not you are missing a blessing my friend.

This is one of the many special aprons that have been given to me. Each apron that I have received was either homemade or bought with love. It’s hard for me to conceive in my mind the generosity of my sweet followers who love with their whole heart.
I’m sure that many of you have children or grandchildren that are nonverble or have some different challenges. This goes to show that we all have short comings in one area or another. But we have been given a heart of love and compassion for one another.
The Lord loves us all and ask for us to love others too.

Barbecue Baked Beans

Dallas and William came to spend time with me for Easter. This was our Friday Night Dinner. We were all starving. William blessed the food and we couldn’t wait to dig in. Anna and Isabella couldn’t come. We missed them. 
What a special time Easter is for our family. We serve a risen savior !
Mark 12 verse30 -31
And thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,with all thy soul and with all thy mind,and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like ,namely this, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these.

If the people in the world were following Jesus Christ - this world would be forever changed. Many do not know Him. But as for Me I do know His love and saving power.
He has risen from the grave. He has conquered death. He has promised to come again to get his children. He has given me and millions of others eternal life with Him. My prayer is that the eyes of people will be open to the Truth of God and they too will know of His love for them. Your life will NEVER be the same after you surrender to Jesus Christ.

Easter Morning. Christ has risen. We have hope and a promise of life eternal for those who call on His name as Christ their savior.
I’m sitting in an old rocker in my bedroom at 3:30 am. thinking about life. Tons of thoughts are passing through my mind on this Easter Sunday Morning.
I’ve got a hot cup of coffee in my cup. Everyone who is visiting for Easter is asleep. I sit here sipping and thinking about my children and their spouses and of course my 5 grandchildren.
Praying for each one individually because each one has different needs. Praying that the Lord will intervene in every life decision. If we don’t pray for our own , WHO WILL.

This is my very first time to try it. It taste exactly like fresh squeezed peaches in a glass of refreshing sweet tea. With summer coming up, I can’t think of a better treat than to sit on my front porch swing, look out on my just mowed lawn and sip this peach tea !
