These are two of my most meaningful pieces to date and gave me all the feels throughout their creation. Jessie wanted to surprise Shane on their wedding day with a White Buffalo Bolo tie. Unbeknownst to her, Shane also reached out to have a special piece made for his bride. It was so fun to be the secret middle woman and attach different details to literally marry these two pieces together.

I asked Jessie if there was something special she’d like on the back of Shane’s piece she said “Next to You…it’s our song!” I laughed because I think I might have been wearing my “If the love doesn’t feel like 90s country, I don’t want it” T-shirt when the text came through. I knew the next lyrics in the song were “Next to me” which would be an incredibly sweet surprise for Jessie too.

The couple was eloping to Alaska so I had to make sure the pieces were done well in advance of their flights. Everything went perfectly until the very last moment of setting the stone in Jessie’s pendant. There was a teeny tiny druzy (aka crystal) pocket in the stone which crumbled out when I set it. I now had this finished piece with a pinhead hole and no idea how to fix it. I scoured the internet, crowd sourced some ideas from metalsmith collectives, and narrowed it down to two options. I could 1. Fill the hole with tinted epoxy and buff it so you’d never know (think spackle or wood putty) or 2. I could drill the hole even bigger and set a stone inside it. I decided to go with option two and we chalked it up to a beautiful metaphor for marriage. Sometime mistakes happen or things go wrong, you can hide it or you can put in a little more work and make it something even more beautiful, strong, and unique than it was before.

With the help of my amazing mentor I was able to set a black diamond (the toughest stone on earth) inside the White Buffalo to make it a piece that was truly one of a kind.

I couldn’t be more thrilled with how everything turned out and I know all three of us cried when they opened them on their adventurous wedding day.

This week we’re celebrating LOVE and a few amazing couples I was honored to create something for on their very special days.

The day I launched this brand Sami slid into my DMs and asked if I could make some earrings for her wedding. I almost spit out my drink because every woo woo visualization I had done of my dream client came true in that very first day. (Badass moto/surfer babe, professional creative, outdoor enthusiast, kind, values handmade quality goods and strives to support their community ✅✅✅✅✅)

She shared her Pinterest board for the hootenanny they were planning and I knew our styles would get a long just fine, since from the looks of it, she was already planning my dream wedding. A vortex of Palm Springs meets Nashville with no shortage of glitter, fringe, or boot scootin’ boogie.

Since her dress had such a breathtaking and elaborate neckline, we decided to skip stones and keep the earrings all Sterling Silver. The tear drop shaped hoops and stamp work kept it fun and interesting while the concho inspired studs kept it minimal and classic.

Cowgirl take us away….. 🤤🤤🤤

For Mother’s Day, one of my best friends reached out to make a custom piece for her mom to honor it being her first year as a Grandma. We picked out a beautiful piece of Rainbow moonstone (an alternate birthstone for June) to honor her own babe. Since the stone was iridescent all the way through I immediately knew I wanted to do a cut out in the back, and do it in a special way. I asked if there was any imagery she could think of and without hesitation she said “A hand! That’s her maiden name!” We decided to take it a step further and add baby hanks hand within the hand and his initials off to the side. I’ve always been a sucker for sentimental jewelry and getting to create pieces with meaning steals a part of my heart each and every time.

This week I’m excited to highlight some very special customs that have been in the works.

I met Julian at Saturday Market a few weeks back because he was carrying a box filled with vodka. I made a corny joke asking if he would share which led us to chatting. He’s been married to Lindy for 18 years and FINALLY decided he was ready to start wearing a ring. I thought it was so sweet that he wanted their names and anniversary on the outside for all the world to see. ❤️

I’ve also been having a ton of fun experimenting with different metal etching applications and can’t wait to see all the ways they open up my designs.

My first piece of fine jewelry will be for sale tomorrow . This week taught me how to set a rainbow of sapphires into this juicy peach fresh water pearl. The 14k octopus bail is hand cast by Thomas and truly brings this underwater treasure to life.

Sometimes life comes at ya quick. I apologize that the past several weeks have been so jam packed I haven’t had the time or energy for this platform. The good news is today was a massive shift for me and I have so many exciting things to share…

First off I was honored to complete my very first pop up at Portland’s Saturday market, and while there was a solid week of sleepless nights getting my ducks in a row, it ended up all being worth it. I have so much gratitude for how warmly my work was received, how many amazing people I was able to connect with, and how much I learned from cutting my teeth in a market setting. Eternal thanks to my mom and partner for putting in some extra hours with me, I couldn’t have gotten here without you. ❤️

Secondly, I’m honored to share I have accepted an apprenticeship with . Not only is Thomas an incredible artist and craftsmanship (seriously check out his work) , but he’s also the sweetest human. I keep pinching myself that he’s taking me under his wing to pass along his decades worth of knowledge before he decides to officially retire his torch.

Finally, aside from having minor hand surgery and setting up a brand new studio for myself, I have so much new work I’m excited to share! The past few months I’ve been buried in customs, many of which have been a surprise. I’m so proud of some of the work that I was entrusted to create for monumental events. It’s been SO hard not to immediately share, but I can’t wait to show it all off oh so soon.

So I appreciate your patience while I still find my Instagram stride but just wanted to thank ya’ll for being a long for the ride. I’m baaaaaaack baby and it’s about to get a lot more fun and interesting over here.

Exciting news! Your girl just won a small business sponsorship to show off her goods for the whole month of August. If you’re not familiar Saturday Market is the oldest continually operated market in the US, it’s also juried to ensure all vendors have quality handmade product. So needless to say I’m honored and so very excited to be a part of the space some of my favorite local brands like Aardvark Sauce got their start.

I’ll be closing off new custom requests for a few weeks to focus on new products and inventory.

I’d love to know what tends to catch your eye at an artist market? Any products you’re always on the hunt for? Let me know 👇🏼

Calling all pet lovers … I’m reinventing BFF necklaces! 📣 📣📣. Because you and your bestie deserve to match in style.

Last month I had the pleasure of fostering a pup from Texas and helping him find his forever home here in Portland. In honor of his adoption I made him a tag to commemorate his new name, and a matching sterling necklace for his mama to celebrate her new BFF. He now gets to live out his days as an adorable silvery fish with endless PNW adventures. You can’t buy love, but you can adopt it ❤️
