While celebrating World's Environment Day we integrate in environment conservation through PAMIRU Program

Integrated Land use planning is an underutilized tool for biodiversity conservation and addressing climate change, especially in Africa, Tanzania and Rukwa Region. Through PAMIRU program, we need to strengthen implementation of Laws and policies based on Environmental Management, having a robust legal framework and having tools, capacities and resources for integrated Land use planning based on gender inclusiveness. Through our strategic Plan, we need to promote Land use planning.

During implementation of Panda Miti Rukwa (PAMIRU) Program, Women voice on Rights to own Land rose. Women said, Land Use Planning can help to Address conflicting/competing demands on same areas. Also they Said it can help in proactively mitigate impacts of human activity on ecosystems as well as adapt to impacts of climate change.

Climate Change impact on Nkasi District's flagship species including Elephants and chimpanzee show that
A. Elephants
- there is an altered movement patterns including changes in migratory routes due to changes in food and water availability
- likely decrease in population numbers due to increased frequency and length of droughts.

B. Chimpanzee
- Fragmenting foraging ranges and populations
- Decreasing suitable habitat leading to decreased food availability; changes in diet; increasing human-wildlife conflict.
- Altered grouping patterns leading to increased mortality; increases in disease exposure

We need to act before all incidences occur

1. Panda Miti Rukwa Campaign graced by Rukwa Regional Commissioner on 24 January 2022.

2. Environment Management: Trees/Grass planting on selected Villages along Kansansa -Kilyamatundu Road Total of 8000m² has be intervened, Kalumbaleza Bridge 2000M², Lwanji Box Culvert 1500M², Nzovwe Vented Drift 1600M², Sakalilo Box Culvert 800M², Solola Box Culvert 800M² and Kaoze Bridge 1700M².

REMSO has Conducted intervetion along River by Planting Vertiver Grass on Six Bridges along Kasansa-Kilyamatundu Road through Implementation of the program on Environment Management Training/Grass Planting on Selected villages Kalumbaleza, Lwanji, Nzovwe, Sakalilo, Solola, Kaoze https://t.co/SjydkP681I

Baada ya kukamilisha program ya Upandaji wa Vertiver Grass katika Madaraja 6, REMSO tumefanya Midahalo na Mikutano ya Hadhara katika Vijiji hivyo 6 vilivyonufaika na Mradi huu. Lengo ni kuzijumuisha jamii ya Kulinda moundombinu ya Barabara na kuhifadhi Mazingira.
