52 Treats in 52 Weeks
Baking is such a fun and therapeutic release for me. Of course, my family and neighbors love the benefits of my hobby.
Here is my new journey, #52treatsin52weeks . I plan to push and challenge myself the whole time all while learning about new techniques
Merry Christmas baking friends
Here are the end results of my child’s daycare luncheon bakes. I can say it’s not my best in presentation but they all were raving about it especially the ginger cake. But hey, I had under 24 hour notice. I used millionaire shortbread recipe and for the gingerbread cake. Only modification was doing a vanilla icing as opposed to cream cheese frosting due to not enough powdered sugar in the house.
Counting down the days until fall! Or at least to less humidity 🥵 Here are some Maple S’mores cookies I created to get me in the bonfire mood.
Next time, I will do this in double chocolate form.
One of Harrison’s favorite people graduated from Harvard Law last week. Why not bake him a cake?!?!? Congratulations 🎓 This gave me the perfect excuse to try out a new chocolate cake recipe! It did not disappoint. I think I have finally cracked the code to the best chocolate buttercream🤤
I decided yesterday why not bake some Victoria Sandwich Cupcakes to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee for our monthly neighborhood association meeting.
While it was messy and rushed and go as flawless as planned, I will say my neighbors, husband and even toddler loved it!
I tried to make a tiny blueberry pie…But it ended up being a little tart😹😹😹 Thank you, I will be here all week.
Made a wonderful and easy lemon sheet cake with blueberry butter cream this weekend. You can tell I’m a true Floridian by the fact every cake recipe has to be citrus in flavor.
My first attempt at Millionaire Shortbread! Made this yesterday for our neighborhood’s monthly porch party and they were hit for both young and old 😆 Who doesn’t love shortbread, caramel, and chocolate ganache?!?!?
Look at this puff on my Pastelitos de Guayaba & Queso! I didn’t realize how easy puff pastry is to make. I’ll give these 9/10 on the tropical fruit spectrum.
Is there anything better than and making it into something exquisite?!? Here is my braided brioche with raspberries and simple glaze.
Attempt No. 2 of making bread and I’m beyond proud of myself. The house smells heavenly. The only difference from yesterday to today was using bread flour instead of all purpose. It really made the dough during folds and the autolyse period much more manageable. It also has had the perfect rise.
First time posting my baking in a while but I did meet my goal of baking 52 new things in 52 weeks.
Now on to 2022 and keeping up with the challenge! I decided to post my newest feat, white bread. The recipe came from the bread God himself, and his book Flour, Water, Salt, Yeast.
Feel free to stop and sample the smells 🤤
