Patti and I had a great time singing, dancing and walking door-to-door in the Sunday rain today. Afterward, we dried off and enjoyed dinner at one of the Farms Mack Ave restaurants.

Together, Patti and I (and Lexi our golden retriever) enjoyed walking to hundreds and hundreds of doors meeting so many of our Farms residents during these last 4 months. Thank you all for taking the time to talk to both of us.

Remember to Vote Theros this Tuesday!! Spread the word!

Big Differences Between Louie and his opponent

In this video, Louie describes 3 key areas that differentiate him from his opponent in this election. Louie's experience and proven results earned him the endorsements of many Farms elected officials and the Grosse Pointe News. As Louie points out in this video, his experience and accomplishments as a Farms council member are the best indicators of what Farms residents can expect from him as Farms Mayor as compared to what they can expect from his opponent based his opponent's lack of accomplishments while on council.

Thank you and remember to VOTE THEROS this coming Tuesday, November 7!

I would like to thank the NAACP of Grosse Pointe for inviting me to its candidate forum on October 26 at the War Memorial and giving me the opportunity to speak to its members. Immediately following, I was able to attend the Understanding Our Differences, Celebrating Our Stories event, sponsored by the War Memorial, several churches, the Detroit Historical Society and WeGP. Great speakers, including South Principal, Moussa Hamka, and a wonderful event.

Moross Greenway Project

Volunteered this morning at the Moross Greenway. A large group of adults and children planted hundreds of daffodils. Look for them in the spring. If you would like to contribute to this great endeavor to beautify our area, head to www.morossgreenway.org. Enjoy the beautiful weather. Louie

I was privileged again this year to attend the Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony arranged by the Louisa St. Clair Chapter DAR and the John Paul Jones Society, CAR, where my son, Evan is currently President. Hundreds of worn U.S. flags were collected during the month of September at the Grosse Pointe Farms City Hall, War Memorial and Pier Park so they could be properly retired pursuant to the US Flag Code. Members of Boy Scout troop #96 performed the ceremony with CAR members. Little known fact is that the Scouts are one of the Country's few organizations that are authorized to conduct flag retirements. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.

It was an honor and a privilege to participate in the League of Women Voters forum. Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Services for Older Citizens Building. If you were unable to attend this event, the recording of it will be available the LWV's page and airing on the War Memorial television channel soon.

MiHockeyPeople – The Theros family’s contribution to the Ice Hawks

Myke Nevin, President of the Ice Hawks, gives the Theros family a tremendous amount of credit for the development of the organization. "Louis and Patti have been invaluable to the Ice Hawks,” Nevin said. “The bottom line is that they’re not in it just for their kids. That’s the key for the success of the Ice Hawks. It’s not a ‘Me, Me, I, I’ organization. It’s an ‘Us and a We.’ And Louis and Patti have spent countless hours donating their time.” Louis Theros will bring the same successful approach to the Farms as your Mayor.

Attended the Senior Expo in St. Clair Shores today and heard a wonderful presentation by Rev. Faith Fowler Cass Community Social Services about their Tiny Homes initiative. Also a chance for seniors from Grosse Pointe, St. Clair Shores and other Eastside communities to get medical check ups, advice and assistance. Glad to see such a wonderful program still running for 24 years!

Spent a great morning volunteering at Munger Elementary in Detroit for Count Day. Had a chance to meet the district's new superintendent, Dr. Nikolai Vitti. It was fabulous seeing all the kids excited to be at school and enjoying the day. Thank a teacher and school employee next time you see them. They do a great job with our young people.

God Bless the families of those killed and wounded in the horrific and senseless evil act in Las Vegas. And bless the first responders who put their lives on the line to protect those in harm’s way. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.

My father built 150 units of low income, senior citizen housing in the 90s and 2000s. I continue to serve on the non-profit board that owns the facility and today we had a re-dedication ceremony to commemorate its opening and renovation. I know my dad is looking down smiling that we continue to provide a beautiful and affordable option for our seniors. Love you, Dad. Great job!
