Welcome to Nomadic’s Terrarium – an alien atmosphere where plants of known and unknown origins, reside, grow, and compete for space and resources. One can discover, growing in its artificial landscape, a myriad of species from perennial garden herbs to foreign and exotic foliage. Within the Terrarium is a limited-edition collection of simple, and unadulterated fragrances drawn from the terrarium. This year, we found two types of herbs growing upon dry soil, under full sun. Accidents, disappointments, and victories. Getting the right mix for these vessels proved to be extra difficult — working with a material such as used coffee grounds demanded a lot of research and testing. BTS - Making our coffee vessels The journey starts out by collecting used coffee grounds from near our area and around Metro Manila. We then leave the grounds to air dry for around 4 to 7 days. Once dry, they are sifted by hand to separate debris, chaff, and large particles from the grounds. These coffee vessels take longer to cure (3 to 5 days) than our classic vessels due to the coffee grounds absorbing the resin and thereby slowing down the curing process.
