Grow through what you go through.
That sums up our weekend and playing up in our first high school division tournament. Not afraid to admit that this weekend was by far our worst weekend of softball in a very long time.
Had some solid innings of work on both sides of the plate with our pitchers giving our defense an opportunity to make plays. Unfortunately, we had some mental lapses which were just too significant to overcome. Good news is that the girls saved their best game for last, and gave themselves an opportunity at the end.
Next up USA ES Rock Gold Invitational in Viera! Looking forward to getting the rest of our ladies back sooner, rather than later!
Big congrats to Lakewood Ranch for winning districts last night! I spy a couple Firecrackers in this pic! Congrats Kendal, Maddison, and the rest of the team! It's not always about how you start but how you finish! Great work ladies!! Keep it rolling! π₯π§¨
Good luck to these amazing ladies in round 2 of district play tonight! Go get'em ladies! π₯π§¨
Big shoutout to our 00 for not only making her HS JV team as a 7th grader, but being a key contributor on both sides of the plate the entire season! This Rockstar rolled with a .444 BA (2nd), .677 OBP (2nd), 1.122 OPS (3rd), 11 RBIs (2nd), and 13 BB (2nd). Through 20.1 IP, she held opposing offenses down with a solid 3.44 ERA, 16 KS vs 9 BBs, and led her team in strike % at 64.24%.
A solid season helping her team earn a 9-1 record. Congrats to a great first season Rory! Can't wait to see what the future brings for you kid! π§¨π₯
Whether our #42 is wearing the π΄ & β«οΈ or representing the Sumner Varsity Stingrays, this baller is always stepping up to help her team as a big time contributor. Keep up the solid work Riley and good luck in districts this Monday night! π§¨π₯
Solid showing this weekend in Fort Myers. Went 4-1 on the weekend, falling to Inferno Becker. Unfortunately, we weren't able to keep the ball out of the air on a windy day and the bats couldn't find the holes to keep up in the semis.
Overall a very productive weekend with the defense stepping up big, making big time plays. Pitching was very solid, allowing our girls to make plays for them. The ladies continue to build trust in each other continuing to make big strides in the little things that make the biggest difference.
Finished 3-2 on the weekend at the USSSA Easton Ghost Tournament. Offensively, the bats caught up to the hard work they've been putting in with a team BA of .367, with 5 of our girls batting .455 or better on the weekend, and 6 of our ladies with an OPS above 1.000. Defensively, the girls made some outstanding plays, with three DPs on the weekend including the one below.
Some mental miscues, and a handful of untimely errors were a big part of the reason for our losses. Back to the grind tonight to work on keeping the routine, routine.

This past weekend the ladies competed in the PGF Party in Tampa. Finished the weekend 2-2-1. Started sluggish but finished the weekend with some pretty amazing plays and a couple W's. Beat some teams we lost to in the past and lost to one we beat. Temps are starting to heat up and so are the bats. Looking forward to seeing these girls compete in their next tournament.
Next up USSSA Ghost Tournament in Sarasota. π₯π₯π§¨
Wishing our #8 the happiest of birthdays today! Her commitment to excellence and to her teammates as one of the leaders of our team is inspiring to watch. We hope today is one to remember Fee!! π₯π₯π§¨
Another weekend in the books. Continuing our teams theme of managing injuries before and during the weekend, the ladies went 3-2 losing in the quarterfinals. We certainly had our fair share of bumps throughout the weekend but saw some amazing plays, and girls fight their way through injury which is always inspiring.
The greatest takeaway from the weekend came in their final half inning of play at the plate. Being down bad the ladies fought back to give it everything they had, coming back from a 9 run deficit to put up 6 runs, never giving up until the final out. We continue to encourage the ladies to play loose, like they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Even in loss there is always something to gain. That was our lesson for the weekend. Keep grinding ladies.
Next up PGF Party in Tampa.

Wishing the best of luck to all of our girls playing for their respective high schools to kick off the season this week! Some of whom have already faced off against each other!
Have a great season ladies!!! π₯π§¨π₯
Cold, wet weekend for the ladies. Pitchers were setting fire to the rain in a downpour that they really had no business playing in. Thankful no one was injured and they got some good work in against some good competition.
Next up USSSA March Madness in Sarasota. π§¨π₯π₯
Ready to get started on this wet weekend in Newberry. 𧨠π₯
Happiest of birthdays to our #12! Always committed to being the best version of herself on and off the softball field. It's not uncommon to see her make a play that belongs on a highlight reel, and can often times be seen blazing a trail behind her on the base paths. We hope today is a great one for you Ainsley!
Thanks again to all those who contributed to our SB fundraiser! Below are the numbers for this weekend. Good luck to everyone!
Today we'd like to celebrate Coach Andrew's birthday! We thank you for all the consistent, positive energy you bring to the team each and every time you step onto the field with our ladies.
You are a constant reminder of how important it is for the game to always remain fun, and we appreciate you for keeping us all grounded. You encourage the ladies to remember that softball isn't who they are, but what they do and to always do it to the best of their abilities! Thank you for all you do Coach!!
Wishing our #7 the happiest of birthdays today! Your energy is infectious, your arm is a cannon, and the leadership you bring to the team is one of the many reasons our team has leveled up over the past few seasons. Happy birthday Kendal!
Between 40 degree temps, fog, and more fog, Saturday wasn't the start to the season we all wanted. That said, I don't know a better bunch capable of bouncing back harder. Took 8 hours for the bats to finally come alive, but the ladies gave themselves a chance to earn a W, coming back from a 7-1 deficit. Even with a couple new faces to add to the spring season, the girls meshed well and played hard for each other through to the bitter end. Through failure comes opportunity for growth. πͺπΌπ₯π§¨
Next up...PGF Classic in Newberry.
This weekend we kick off what will undoubtedly be a fantastic Spring season of Firecrackers softball. The girls have been fine-tuning their skills and spent much of the offseason in the gym πͺπ½. We are excited to see what else these girls can accomplish!
This is a one day only tournament on Saturday 2/3.

We want to wish Coach Kirk a wonderful birthday today. In his words, βIβm going to keep this shortβ. π
Thank you for your leadership and all you do for the girls. It does not go unnoticed or unappreciated! We have come a long way in a short period of time thanks to your guidance. Hope itβs a great day for you! 𧨠π₯
22 isn't just the number on the back of her jersey, it's the number of smiles we see and/or highlight reel plays our Maddison is making on any given weekend when she's ballin' out! Happiest of birthdays to you Maddison! We hope its a great one!
