New Beginnings

From what started as a vision inspired by an amazing bread bakery we visited in Lima, Peru back in 2017, we have been passionate about one day bringing fresh, artisanal sourdough bread to Martinborough. We talked about it and decided that a bakery was what Martinborough needed, and proceeded to undertake two sourdough bread specific courses in London before returning home to New Zealand at the end of 2017. For the last two years Emily has been baking sourdough and refining her methods by baking for friends and family, as well as completing with distinction a Level 2 Diploma in Food Prep and Cooking (Patisserie) through WELTEC in Wellington last year. Finally we have been able to open the doors to Borough Bakery at 7 Jellicoe Street for locals and visitors alike to enjoy authentic sourdough bread baked fresh daily onsite. Open from 7.30am Thursday -Saturday, we are proud to be able to share our love and passion of Sourdough bread with the people of Martinborough.
