How once they were the part of a valley, how once the river actions rounded them and how they were uplifted in orogenic processes. These processes truly show the massive forces at work around us. Forces that we can never comprehend. Forces that are so magnificent for our understanding.

Shot 1: Narar Waterfalls, on your way to Panjpeer rocks you’ll come across these gorgeous waterfalls, campsite and a small pond enclosed in huge boulders which might have been a result of a massive scale landslide.

Shot 2: The Panjpeer Forest, on your way through these thick pine trees towards the peak, you’ll come across these high rising trees with a heavy fog (in winters) and poking sunlight (in summers) can depict w mesmerising scene.

Shot 3: On the Panjpeer peak this beautiful structure of a platy boulder placed on top of a huge round boulder truly depicts the balance in nature and magnificence of God.

Location
The mystical Panj Peer (Five Saints) rocks are the highest point of Danoi Ridge located in Kotli Sattian, Kahuta. Situated at an altitude of 5905 feet, they get their name from the local legend of five saints who are believed to have settled in the area. The rocks are home to a beautiful shrine with breathtaking views of Makra and the various mountains of Kaghan in the north and Kashmir in the east.

Route
It takes around 2 hours from Islamabad to reach Kahuta by road. After that, a slightly tough hike of 3 to 4 hours is needed to reach the top ridge of the mountain range.

Stay
Camping is the best and most adventurous option but one can also book a room in a rest house in the mountains, which is under the administration of the Divisional Forest Office (DFO), Rawalpindi.

Activity
The beauty and serenity of the 12km path from Narar village to the top of the rock formations is unforgettable, because the route passes through magical waterfalls, dense forests, beautiful streams, magnificent peaks and so much more. You can view the sunset and sunrise while sitting on the rocky plateau of the ridge. A visit to the Punj Peer shrine is a must, where footsteps of the saints are engraved on the stones.
