What do the recent rumors of a possible ban on popular social media platforms mean for brands?
Key Takeaways-
-Brands have been very conscious of every penny that they are spending amidst the pandemic. Hence, huge sums of money invested by brands for advertising might result in big losses.
-This will disrupt all ongoing digital campaigns, Traffic to websites will drop, and consequently so will sales and leads.
-Ad spends will shift more towards Search and Display Marketing via Google.
-Brands will also turn to OTT platforms and mobile apps to advertise.
-Email marketing will gain more popularity as a method to engage with consumers.
-Bharat-centric platforms will emerge as a replacement for banned social media platforms.

120-year-old Saregama is ready for the future; here is how it is transitioning to stay relevant for the next few decades.
Saregama, which is sitting at the heart of all the action, be it with music, films or TV series, aims to create enough content so that the kids of today who are going to consume content will keep on listening to this content for another 50 years,
Right now, the company is primarily focusing on two things, the creation of IPs, be it as music, films or TV series, and monetizing them. The second is to create a platform on the back of Carvaan to talk to the 35+ age group.

It's very important for you to realize that other people's thoughts, words, actions, behaviour, and feelings are NOT your responsibility.
What you think about yourself is more important than what people think about you.
What people think about creation :
- Buying expensive cameras.
- Buying training programs.
- Using marketing gimmicks to grow on .
(Maybe all this works, I don't know)
What it actually is (at least for me):
- articles that are trending and match your forte.
- and developing your own analysis.
- Writing/shooting/Creating captivating artworks with good content.
Avoid disinformation and misinformation !!
Misinformation - False or inaccurate information that is communicated regardless of an intention to deceive.
Disinformation - Bad information that is sent out on purpose.
The amount of disinformation and misinformation that is spread on the web is staggering and we all need to be educated !!
in true sense!!
USA is helping India by providing Oxygen Cylinders, test kits, PPE kits, and even the ban on the raw material to produce vaccines has been lifted.
UK sent across 140 ventilators and 495 oxygen generators to Delhi
Germany sent across 23 mobile oxygen generating plants.
Saudi Government sent 80 metric tons of liquid oxygen

Taiwan is sending Oxygen generators!
Countries like China, Pakistan, Australia, and France also showed their readiness to help India

The CEO and co-founder of TikTok's owner ByteDance, Zhang Yiming, has announced he will step down as CEO.
He says, "The truth is, I lack some of the skills that make an ideal manager. I'm more interested in analyzing organizational and market principles, and leveraging these theories to further reduce management work, rather than actually managing people."
Mr Zhang has my respects.
I find such candour about one's 'shortcomings', coming from an industry head, bold, transparent, acceptable and refreshing.
It's also a great example of self-awareness - knowing what we are good at, taking time to improve ourselves, letting the competent one take our place without any ego, and being passionate about, what makes us happy

What is the right social media etiquette for brands and leaders? There's a reason why celebrities and influencers are singled out for their silence
Some Key Takeaways -
1. Organisations use social media to build a brand and hence may want to avoid getting entangled or dragged into any controversy. However, this is also when your stakeholders are looking at your brand to see the values you stand for.
2. You may feel like you have nothing valuable to say. In that case, it's better to state your intention of taking a break rather than halting your social media and keeping your followers clueless
3. If nothing more, use your social platforms to share words of encouragement and resilience.

In India, tea is a beverage and chai is an emotion. Whether pre -covid times or WFH, I always have "multiple cups kinda chai day "
and why not "I don't believe in soulmates but I believe in 'supremacy of chai.'
Happy to all tea lovers of the Earth.
Recognizing the long history and deep cultural and economic significance of tea around the world, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 May as International Tea Day, calling on Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to lead the observance.

International Tea Day The origins of tea stretch back more than 5 000 years, but its contributions to health, culture and socioeconomic development are still as relevant today. Tea is currently grown in very localized areas, and supports over 13 million people, including smallholder farmers and their households, who depe...
