Yellow Together DE&I, LLC
We are committed to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.
Whether you are a small business, corporation, or government agency, we can help improve the work environment and services provided to the LGBT+ community.
How employers can support their LGBT+ employees?
Being supportive means more than celebrating Pride Month, wearing rainbows, and going to festivals. It’s taking the extra step for a more diverse and inclusive environment. 36% of LGBTQ+ people have experienced harassment or discrimination in the workplace, making it the second most common space where the LGBTQ+ community experience discrimination behind public spaces, 51%.
At times, LGBT+ individuals hide their identity while working due to the fear of discrimination or bullying. Employees who don’t feel supported by employers aren’t likely to stay with the company for long nor will they produce their best abilities.
A supportive work environment will increase morale, improve productivity and decrease the onboarding budget. Happy employees are more likely to stay with the company longer, which will decrease the onboarding budget. An improvement in productivity will occur when employees feel valued and understood. A business that promotes diversity is perceived more relatable and socially responsible than its competitor.

“Where are you really from?”
“It’s a joke”
“You know that’s not what I meant.”
Sometimes, it’s hard to be on the receiving end of that conversation. To hear someone, comment about your race, sexuality, eyes, weight, etc. It’s time we realize that words mean things, and they have power. Often, we don’t mean anything by it, which is why we don’t recognize when it happens or why someone else may be upset.
Do you think your organization or business is ready to have this conversation? Let’s do it, email [email protected]
