Salad time - so last week I decided that I will do no more carbohydrates diet and try to be more healthy for a month and so far so good, I feel so much more energetic, fingers crossed this feeling will continue and won’t miss bread, rice and cake 😞

Zrobi or some refer to it as nani now seri. Basically this is Kurdish bread fried in oil so it’s crispy on the outside and fluffy in the inside. Perfect for those cold mornings.

is a traditional Kurdish dish called kefta which is made from different types of bulgur and filled with diced beef, parsley and onion which has been marinated in different spices for its aromatic smell and taste. They are then cooked in a tomatoe sauce which has Swiss chard and chickpea but you can add any vegetable you like.

Chicken roast - this is probably the juiciest hockey recipe I have had so far using butter, pomegranate molasses, garlic, lemon, curry powder, black, onion, pepper and tomatoe paste.

Dates and eggs - this might not be your typical dish that you would see but it’s a well known traditional Iraqi breakfast dish. This dish is usually served as a specialty breakfast to those who have just given birth.
It is believed that dates and eggs have the richest ingredients that would help in providing the baby with the most nutrition’s during their breast feeding phase. This dish bring back my childhood memories when my grandmother use to make it for and serve it with freshly made bread and cardamom tea.
Ingredients:
3 Eggs
2-3 spoons of Butter or sunflower oil
1 cup of seedless Dates
Seasoning - salt and cardamom

-First heat the stone dish and put the butter in until it melts completely.
-Add the dates and start making a purée or until it becomes completely soft and combined together like a dough.
-Make a hole in the center and add the eggs. There are two ways to do it, either by whisking the eggs in a separate dish then pour it to the center or break the eggs directly.

Mini pizza pockets so easy to make and incredible yummy. These make the perfect snack and take 15min to make. All you need is tomatoes, green chilli, mushrooms, cheese and parsley and Ofcourse your voice of bread but the ones that work best are pitta, toast I have personally used sliced focaccia
