Response I got in regards to the reckless driving of Akron Police last night:

Good afternoon,



I appreciate and thank you for reaching out and expressing your concern.



Public safety, in all aspects, is always important to us.



I am not actually aware of the incident you are referring to or the exact reason or circumstances officers may have driven more than the posted speed limit.



Under certain circumstances, there are legitimate reasons for doing so.



Because I don’t know the incident, I will look into the matter and forward the inquiry to the appropriate commander for their review.



Citizens are always welcome to call the police department, share their concerns and frustration, and submit a complaint if necessary.

What happened last night is Akron is a disgrace. Akron Police Department should be ashamed of themselves for putting so many peoples lives at risk by driving 60+ miles an hour on residential streets without any lights on.

My letter this evening to the Department of Justice, calling for an investigation into the assassination of Jayland Walker. He was brutally killed by Akron police officers, and they must be held accountable.
