Just finished up another really cool mantel for a client. This one was was the largest to date and made of SOLID RED OAK from a single 24ft beam, with the main shelf 12"×18" weighing in at 456lbs. The legs are 10"×12", the uprights to the ceiling are 6"x8" and the center boards are 9 1/2" x 5/4.
Finished with Rubio Monocoat Wood Stain Oil Plus 2C Pure.
Work in progress, got the hard part done but still have a lot of work to do STAND BY !

After a long road to get this slab ready, from leveling, filling holes/cracks with epoxy, worm holes and sanding to 400grit its time for the first of 3 pours !

Got the base built and glued today, also got the table top sanded to 220g.

Made some progress today...
Final pour completed ! Now its time to build, glue and sand the legs while the curing processes continues. I'll be using milled rough cut walnut so each piece will be cut, joint, planned and dry fit before gluing.

Pour #2 current count is 4 1/2 gallons so far and going to need another 3 gallons... But wow its going to be amazing!
Mixture is Caribbean Blue and cobalt blue
