This picture of this kid touching the sand on the beach is really symbolic. Because on the horizon we can see Robben island, the island where Madiba, Nelson Mandela, was imprisoned for 18 years. Which is considered by South Africans the symbol of triumph of the human spirit over adversity, suffering and injustice. This kid represents the future of South Africa.
Mr. Madela would be proud to see this, to see this kid free and happy, and see his father talking with a north american tourist (me), alowing him to capture this scene.
