Boundary setting is a radical act of self love. 💗

I read something that I thought was so helpful:

“Remember, the only people who get upset when you set boundaries are the ones who benefited from you having none.”

Know that it’s okay if this time of year does not feel merry.

Surround yourself with the love and light you need this holiday season. ❤️

Also, don’t forget “no.” is a complete sentence. 💕

16/12/2022

Life is truly better with you here..I need you to stay.. we all need you… for all who have struggled for far too long.. it really sucks that you aren’t here…it deeply breaks my heart.. life will never be the same without you…you live with us and we honor you always by choosing compassion every single day..

Here for anyone who needs a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on..

You’re more than enough and you are not alone with everything you are facing. ❤️

Wishing you a safe and calming weekend. Taking what you need day by day.🍂🧡

Thinking of those impacted by hurricane Ian 😞 in hopes of getting the support you need.

Below are some of many organizations accepting donations to help:

Roots of Hope, a nonprofit Cuban youth organization, is collecting donations to help Cuban families.
The People’s Forum, an NYC movement incubator for working-class and marginalized communities, is collecting donations for Cuba.
Direct Relief has sent emergency and medial supplies to Cuba and Florida. They are accepting donations.

Darcel Being 😍🌿🌻✨

10/07/2022

To put into words the feeling of this time has been a real challenge for many.

In a time where a lot of us feel helpless and broken…where you really don’t know how much more you can give…

Darcel Being worded this powerful advice and reminder SOOO beautifully.

“You are never too broken to be of service to humanity.”

Whether it’s speaking out on how you are feeling or needing the time to distance yourself from the noice that aches.

You are doing everything you can through this very painful time. Even with your pain, you are capable of making a difference. Together we are and we will continue the progress for human rights.

Thank you for connecting and saying yes to your content being shared on TWW account.💚

needed these reminders today + thought you might too.

one of the biggest lessons I learned in sobriety is to let go of the need for control.

I often would bring on my own spiraling thoughts by getting worked up over people + situations I have no control over.

when things become overwhelming, I check in with myself: “what about this situation can i control? what about this situation is out of my control + therefore must let go?”

doing this simple exercise helps ground/center me + relieves some of my anxiety in that moment.

at the end of the day, no matter how frustrating or overwhelming the world around us can be, the only thing we can control is ourselves.

put a heart in the comments for the one you need to remember the most:
❤️ - boundaries I set with others
🧡 - my response to other’s behavior
💛 - how I speak to + treat others
💚 - where I give my time, energy + attention
💙 - when + if I forgive others
💜 - how I let other people affect me
💗 - how I love myself

It’s the last day of May but mental health awareness is always. 💚

I had a therapy session today after a year of not being in therapy. It was so needed and refreshing. I didn’t realize how much of a break I needed after graduating from grad school and making the transition with my new job at NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) as their marketing coordinator! It’s been great to see how I can make an impact in multiple ways within the mental health community.

I want to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and patient with me as I work on creating this platform. I care so much. I face mental health struggles myself and I’m a huge advocate for therapy (if you couldn’t tell 🤣), holistic, medication and really anything that helps you feel growth no matter the size.

Thank you for being here and looking out for new posts and updates. You are all incredible humans and I’m sending supportive vibes back your way.💚

Snippet from our episode with the resilient 💚

So well said.

The amount of impact from losing a loved one affects us in so many complex ways.

Our hearts are with everyone feeling the loss of loved ones, those who are facing trauma from the world and who can’t find the capacity to grieve.

Having the space to talk about that and share your story is important here at TWW.🎙

Thank you for sharing yours with the community, Britt. 🌿Can’t wait for your episode to hit this summer ☀️ and have you back on for another amazing talk.♥️

Your story matters. We hope this inspires you to reflect, check in with yourself and those around you.

How can we even feel through this?

The amount of access to counseling and therapy from such constant devastations are NEEDED. In schools and in all communities. ACCESS FOR ALL.

04/06/2022

“You can love yourself and still be a work in progress.” 🌿

Allow yourself to heal.
Allow yourself to receive help.
Allow yourself to grow.
Allow yourself to rise to your higher self. 💚

Anyone else ever feel like you are just trying to connect the dots as you go?✋

My guest Gia Doxey and I totally relate to this! 💚

We are all figuring it out as we go our own way and at our own pace. Connecting our own dots. 🌿

TWW is all about sharing our own experiences as we navigate life, learning, growth and everything in between 🌾 and your journey is beyond worthy to shine light on and celebrate! 🎉

Here is a snippet from our conversation ♥️ We talked a lot about post-college mental health, when we first realized the importance of wellbeing and how we’re navigating the ongoing process of learning about ourselves in our 20s. 🌱

Such a beautiful conversation, and I cannot wait for you all to hear it! 🎧

Stay tuned for more inspiring episode snippets and guest quotes as we get closer to episodes launching this summer! 🎙☀️💚

As we approach March there is no end in celebrating black joy and speaking out about black mental health and wellbeing ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻

from the amazingly talented Chibia Ulinwa 🇳🇬✨] 🔥 It’s an honor to share your art on the TWW page, Chibia!♥️ It was great connecting with you via DMs 💌

Chibia is a violinist, vocalist, music educator, and lettering/calligraphy artist based in Portland OR. You go, Chibia! ✨Go give her a follow and check out her beautiful work 🎨💗

⬇️Please read original caption of Chibia’s moving and honest words⬇️

Today’s call-to-action lettering prompt is Celebrate Black Joy! Black joy/culture has paved the way to popular culture in fashion, music, food, slang, etc—Our joy is robust and often infectious. That absolutely calls for celebration if you ask me 🥰

Personally, I’ve been in situations where I’ve felt like I had to tame my personality to fit into “normalcy”. I’ve been told I’m too loud or too much and I would put myself in a box that was too small for all that I had to give. But doing that is honestly soooo boring and I don’t want to hang out with people who want me to be something that I’m not. I want to share my vibrancy with the world all the time when I can ✨

Black folks, our joy has power! Our joy sets trends! Our joy changes the course of history and it deserves to be acknowledged and celebrated often!

Please feel free to letter along and tag Chibia Ulinwa 🇳🇬✨] and in your creations today 💕✨

Had the pleasure of recording an impactful episode with the phenomenal Laurie Brutus as our podcast guest! 🎙😍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It was such an empowering conversation and can’t wait for it to be shared this Spring for you all to hear!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We talked a lot about Laurie’s experience and what she has witnessed being a nurse and lactation consultant in this pandemic.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She shared how it was transitioning back to NY during this crazy and tragic time.

Laurie also shared what has helped her evolving journey of navigating through showing up for herself in a profession that puts others first. ♥️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Essential workers, your care and everyday work for your patients AND YOURSELVES never goes unnoticed 💕

May this be a kind reminder to make sure to check in with yourself and help yourself with anything you may need, truly. 💗
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your mental health and well-being matters, always.

Happy Wednesday all! 🌿

I want to share some great benefits to taking breaks and ways you can hold yourself accountable to ensure breaks in the future! 🥳

Real talk - We are NOT meant to be on 24/7, amirite? Studies show breaks are SO important.

Some of the many benefits ↓
🌿Reduces stress
🌿Improves creativity
🌿Helps reevaluate goals
🌿Increases productivity
🌿Helps the mind refocus
🌿Improves mental health
🌿Lessons injuries (such as, body aches)

Ways you can ensure breaks ↓
🌱Agree with yourself and those around you on break times (your boss, team, spouse, family, etc.) help each other stick with it!
🌱Set an alarm on your phone to remind you
🌱Plan to do something in your break that you enjoy – This will boost motivation to have that break
🌱Observe how you are feeling during the break - This will navigate through what you really need during your breaks to get you to continue what helps you the most.

→Being patient with finding what works for you is key 🔑

During our last podcast episode recording with .rachelle one of the many suggested gems we discussed was finding balance throughout the day with breaks! Heck yes!

Nora shared the Pomodoro Method👀Which is basically taking intentionally timed breaks to increase your productivity and wellbeing. For example, for every 25 minutes of work you do take a 5-minute break or whichever time sequence realistically works best for you.

Let us know in the comments below ⤵ what has helped you the most.
