As the title suggests, Paolo went on a trip WITHOUT ME. 😦 Unfortunately, I had to work, so Paolo took advantage of a gap between shows to go across the pond. His last show ended in Houston, so it worked out perfectly to hop on a flight. Just a quick 9 hours in premium economy to Amsterdam. Once in Europe, he headed straight to the trains to go to Amstelpark....

Our alarms went off at 4:30am. Time to wake up... We got ready, checked out of our hotel, and hopped in a Grab to the airport. The process at the Changi airport is a bit odd. You get there, can check your bags if you need to, and then you go through immigration/customs. You don't actually go through security till your flight starts boarding, so we got into the airport pretty quickly....

Grandfather Mountain is situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains ⛰️ right off of Blue Ridge Parkway. Tickets 🎟️ range from $15-28 per person depending on if it’s peak times or not. You do need to buy tickets online in advanced to guarantee admission. Admission gets you an audio guide, access to the entire mountain, and a plethora of things to do.
Their hours do vary per season, but they’re generally open 9am- 6pm. Trails close an hour before the park closes, so plan accordingly! ⏰
We highly recommend making a stop here if you’re in the area! 🙂

We knew the Blue Ridge Mountains were beautiful 😍 but did you know that this blue haze is actually caused from the trees emitting a chemical into the air? They emit isoprene into the air to protect themselves from excess heat! 😱 That chemical then scatters blue light from the sun. 💙

This was NOT my first time in Blue Ridge Parkway, but it was my first time actually getting to explore along Blue Ridge Parkway. 💛I was in Asheville a few years ago with my brother and sister in law, but I really only took Blue Ridge Parkway home to have more of a scenic drive. This time, we headed north from Asheville further into the mountains. Our first stop was Crabtree Falls(pictured). This waterfall is 70 feet high, and is located at milepost 334! As you can tell, it was well worth the hike! 👍😎

Spent the weekend with my sister in law exploring one of my favorite state parks in Tennessee.. if you were to tell me I could only visit one park in Tennessee, I’d always choose South Cumberland State Park! 🌳 This park has SO many different trails to go on, and it’s got trails for truly everyone! Long and short, easy to hard, mountain views to waterfalls. The opportunities are truly endless!
