THE RED DOOR is a dystopian hopepunk novel with a neurodivergent heroine, written for older middle grade readers.
"The Red Door is an entertaining tale of good versus evil with a young protagonist who is smart, caring, and spunky. Author, Rachel Lulich does a great job of getting into Aster’s head and letting her readers see the inner turmoil that Aster goes through."

What's your favorite thing about reading? I'll go first:
I love putting myself in characters' shoes and reflecting on the human experience through their experiences, whether fiction or nonfiction.
(That might also be my favorite part of writing...)
Ever wonder where Tolkien got his ideas? Interested in how screenwriters go about the task of adapting novels? Intrigued by medieval literature and the languages it was written in?

Aster eyed the tall pines.
“Hello?” The sound of her voice was muted by the
vegetation—and something else. The trees began to
blur and shrink away, and Aster recognized what was
happening. A waking dream was about to overtake
her. She closed her eyes and clenched her jaw.
“No,” she said, but she could barely hear her own
voice. “No.”
The dream seemed to freeze, and for a brief moment,
Aster thought she could stop it. Then the world emptied, and she was standing before the Door.
If you've been waiting for The Red Door to be available in ebook formats other than Kindle, the wait is over! It's also available on Nook from B&N, and you can see your other reading options via the link in the comments.

Found in the wild at Morgenstern Books.
Yay! I was a bestseller for my release week!!
Following the success of her sci-fi Fractured Galaxy trilogy, Rachel Lulich returned to Morgenstern’s Saturday to launch her first children’s book, “The Red Door.” The standing-room-only crowd enjoyed a reading, Q & A, signing, accolades, photos with family and friends, cake and brownies baked by Mom!
