Fogorig Mill (1867)

It's amazing to see how structures such as a Mills, built out of utility are still such a beautiful showcase of craftsmanship 150 years later.

The Fogorig Mill is built from local fieldstone, with dressed limestone quoins. Much of this detailing unfortunately became obscured throughout the years of repair work done with Portland cements.

Fogorig Mill - (1867)

There is a saying in masonry, "Two things damage brick; stupid men, and water". Add lightning to the list. This is was the result of a direct strike on the Fogorig Mill stack. Blowing out the limestone corbel at the top, and the opposite corner of the limestone base 50 feet below.

Fogorig Mill - (1867)

This stunning mill in Campbellford underwent an encompassing masonry restoration of the stone structures and stabilization of the original 150 year old brick stack.
