We are very excited to share details of our next inspiring event

President Catherine Williamson, writes

As Soroptimists, we are dedicated to raising up the lives of women and girls locally, nationally, and globally. It’s all about giving back to our community in the spirit of service. Our next event is a special one. I’m thrilled to invite you to our inaugural Raise Up Conference on Sunday 29th September.

Each speaker is a Soroptimist who has transformed their hardships into strength and faced significant personal challenges—whether it’s overcoming chronic exam anxiety, surviving bullying and grooming, or enduring six heart attacks. The conference will shine a light on how we can triumph over adversity; our speakers’ stories raising up our own lives with insights, hope, wit and wisdom.

We’ll gather at The Fold, a beautiful, historic venue in the heart of Leamington. It’s the perfect setting for a day filled with learning and connection.

Tickets are ÂŁ40 and include a light lunch. All proceeds will support local causes dedicated to raising up women and girls in need in our community.

Whether you’re a leader nurturing the next generation or someone seeking inspiration in your own life, this conference will serve you tremendously.

I truly hope to see you there, ready to raise up one another on this special day.

Today as we celebrate International Women’s Day, the newly formed Leamington Spa Soroptimists are proud to be members of a global volunteer movement, working together to transform the lives of women and girls. Our network of around 66,000 club members in 120 countries works at a local, national and international level to Educate, Empower and Enable opportunities for women and girls.

The name Soroptimist was coined from the Latin soror meaning sister, and optima meaning best. And so Soroptimist is perhaps best interpreted as 'the best for women'.

We all agreed, if Loyd Grossman had been our teacher - we would have loved history at school. Superbly supported thank you - the Leamington Sorops emphatically delivered a classy and engaging event - the whopping cherry on the cake - ÂŁ5500 raised for Helping Hands.

12/01/2024

Come and be enthralled and educated by one of the most distinctive voices in showbusiness. Loyd Grossman might have intrigued us ‘through the keyhole’ and put the piazzas to our pasta with his sauces. This chap is also extremely learned, too. Not only will you emerge having quaffed some quality vino but we have some canapĂ©s extraordinaire to complement Loyd’s talk. As you absorb all this class, know that you are directly enriching the lives of the women currently seeking refuge and hope at Esther House; a safe haven for vulnerable ladies for help with mental health, domestic abuse, isolation, addiction & trauma. The Leamington Spa Soroptimists are giddy that Loyd is our guest as we seek to raise money for Helping Hands. Fancy this as a Christmas present then we can send the ticket out as a gift.

As well as Forrest Coffee House Kenilworth and Esquires Coffee Leamington, 1 Mill Street are participating for the first time this year meaning we are able to double the number of young people we plan to support.
