St James’s today:

Warm Space and Place of Welcome Coffee Morning at 10.30 am.

There will be lots of foodshare available including burger buns,milk, potatoes, bananas, pastries and cookies. We close at 1.00pm for lunch.

Foodshare wil also be available from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm

Lovely to have a group from St. Matthew’s Burnley stopping by on their pilgrimage walk. Glad to have given them all a brew before they continue. Praying for you all.

We are really looking forward to Happy Valley Pride coming up. Here are some of the things we've got going on that week.

Because of the roadworks taking place on Sunday we’ve decided to not have a service at St. James on the 30th as there will be no parking space and lots of noise outside. Instead do come and join in with the service at St. Thomas at 10:45am.

The Coat of Hopes is travelling through Hebden Bridge soon. Come and find out more about it's amazing story.

This week our churchwardens were sworn into their roles. We are so grateful for David, Margaret and Graham who serve these parishes so faithfully.

There is currently a drone flying round inside St. James Church getting some amazing film of the building. Can’t wait to see it.

It's nearly Pentecost tomorrow and we are doing something a bit different... Come and find out at 10am at St. Thomas Heptonstall tomorrow.

Rev. Ruthi gave an assembly this morning about Pentecost and how the disciples were able to speak different languages. She gave some examples of how to say hello in different languages and asked them if they knew which language it was....
Bonjour - French
Ciao - Italian
Hola - Spanish etc.
Then we got to Hallo... to which a child pipes up "That's hello in Yorkshire!"

This Christian Aid Week, we pray that people pushed to the brink by poverty find the strength and opportunity to push back harder and fulfil their hopes and ambitions.
