Made it to the finals! Will be coming in at 6th seed again after shooting a perfect score in all of my matches and a shoot off arrow to make it in. Finals will be tomorrow around 1.
One half away from the 50k… 325 first half and 330 second. Oops. Eliminations tomorrow.
Another fun year at the Iowa pro am. Shot the bow strong all weekend and came home with a 3rd for the second year in a row. Congrats on 2nd and for the W. Good shooting gentlemen!
Another 3rd place for me at the Rushmore Rumble. With how incredibly tough the competition has gotten over the last few years I am grateful to be standing up on that podium.

GT Open was a bust! Qualified with a 594 and out in first match with a 149. Sometimes you just get extremely unlucky.
It was a good day out on the archery range. This Elite Archery verdict had been shooting amazing all weekend but still needed to make some points up coming into today. Shooting a 357 my first half I was feeling good about things were going. Second half I dropped a few more points for a 354 for a total of 711 and an overall of 1410 just enough to squeeze into the lead and win USA Nationals. Looking forward to U.S open tomorrow!

World Archery Championships was definitely a learning curve for me this year. With high winds and heavy rain it was some of the most challenging weather conditions I’ve shot in. However happy with my performance, it wasn’t enough to make the finals. It was still a great experience and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Set a personal best in Metropolis this year! Unfortunately day one was a bust. 39 up for the weekend… you can do the math. Slowly but surely I’m getting this 3D stuff figured out.
No matter how big or small, never give up on your dreams. My first World Cup was this past week in Medellin Colombia and walked away with a 3rd place finish. Congrats to teammate on his second place!

World Cup #3. Struggled in qualification but figured it out enough to make it to the medal matches tomorrow! First match against
Just a couple days before heading to SoCal and Columbia. Practice. Practice. Practice.
The last few weeks have been non stop traveling and shooting. First stop being Camp Minden ASA in Louisiana. Finishing 20+ for the weekend was a disappointing score for how I felt I was shooting the bow. Next was Redding CA. I’ve always wanted to make the haul out there in a vehicle instead of seeing the scenery through a plane window and did just that this year. As far as the tournament went, it was cold and rainy all week and finished 12 down individual and 2 down for team with landing us in 4th after a shoot off. Then straight from Redding to Gainesville Florida for the world team trials and Gator Cup. World team trials went about as well as I could have expected it to. Qualified well and shot good in round robins landing me in 4th sending me to the #3 World Cup in Columbia in a few weeks. Gator Cup went about as well as trials. Qualifying 1st with a 709 and getting knocked out in the quarter finals just shy of a podium spot. Now glad to be back home for a couple weeks before heading to So Cal, Columbia and Metropolis.
709 for qualification for gator cup. Should place me in 1st or 2nd depending on a coin flip as and I tied in 10’s and X’s. Looking forward to eliminations tomorrow.
Another year at NFAA Indoor Nationals has come and gone. This is the only national indoor tournament that I have not shot my way up to a podium spot. Qualifying with a perfect 600 120x is a feat in it’s own but a spot up on the podium was just out of reach. Maybe next year.

And we’re off to the shoot off! A bale of 120x’s! Good shooting gentlemen!

Lately, there has been some buzz around new string materials and new string-building processes. One thing we can agree on is that not all bowstrings are created equal.
What sets GAS Bowstrings apart from the pack is our tested and proven string-building process which we call our TTS or Total Tensioning System. This system has taken years of R&D, a great depth of knowledge in the archery and bowstring industries, and many long nights to invent and create our own machines to build the most unrivaled strings on the market. This Total Tensioning System eliminates any peep rotation, serving separation, and elongation in our strings and we stand behind it with our one-year warranty.
In addition to our exclusive process, we have selected the highest quality string material on the market to build our strings- BCY 452X alongside our GAS Ghost XV strings which are a special blend of those high-quality BCY materials. BCY 452X has stood the test of time in the string industry as it has the best performance, consistency, and reliability.
The proof of our quality, reliability, and performance is in our podium-proven results. We have the absolute best archers from around the world shooting our bowstrings from compound to Olympic recurve, and barebow! Archers who are ranked top five or higher in their world rankings, archers who have broken just about every national and world record an archer could break, multiple-time Vegas Champions, legends, and historically unbeaten archers are competing with our strings!
Our main goal is to provide you with quality string sets that you can rely on no matter the competition, location, or the elements you may encounter. Whether you are a professional, an amateur, a hunter, or someone who shoots recreationally, GAS Bowstrings will have you covered. We are truly unrivaled.
We made it to Vegas! Quick practice round for the afternoon with a dirty 30. Let’s keep this rolling for the rest of the week!
This picture about sums up my weekend at the Lancaster Classic. Rolling off the qualification line with a 653/660 and pretty unhappy with how the day went. I quickly hit the practice range determined to figure out what was going on. Soon after finding my groove again I was feeling good about eliminations but that was short lived. Putting up a perfect score on 132 on my first match to tie and then to loose with a closest to center shoot off. Time to head home and rest for a day before heading off to Vegas. Good luck to in the finals tomorrow. Go get ‘em buddy!
There’s never a dull moment around . Come ask Richard Bowen, Jacob Marlow and I some questions at 11AM if you find yourself at the Lancaster Archery Classic.

Thank you Gas Bowstrings and Eric Griggs for supporting me on my journey the last few years! I don’t expect anything but the best coming from you guys!
Honestly shot really well during eliminations with a score of 149 to tie .schaff.archery only for him to beat me in a one arrow shoot off and go on to win it. Congrats dude! I will be back next year with even more determination!
Great first half here at Nimes with a 299. Second half was not so great. Had two ends that did not feel like they broke well and ended up dropping 3 points for a total of 596. Off to eliminations here shortly.
I knew I had to put up a good qualification score today for any hope of making it to the podium. I was able to do just that, however, so did 9 others. A 329 out of 330 was only good enough to shoot off for second place and it dwindled quick. With just and I left going head to head for that second place spot, he got me with an inside out X to seat me in third. Congrats to on the win! Until next year Iowa!
That little bu**er right there was a tough one to swallow. You always want to do the best you can and I guess that’s the best I could do today. Day one at the Iowa Pro Am finished with a 59x and using it as fuel for tomorrow.
Well… here it is. I’ve been getting a lot of messages regarding my arrow call in the finals. For those of you saying that it was a BS call and that it was or should have been called in, I agree with the call. At the end of the day the judges word is final and I appreciate for making the decision to get a second judge to take look at it. I should have made a better shot, plain and simple. With all that aside, I am overall happy with how the weekend went, although, not were I wanted to end up. I Had to settle with a 3rd place podium for the Rushmore Rumble. A big congrats to on his first indoor win and .douglas1 on a second place. Good shooting gentleman!
