Some inmates are allowed to work if they want to. If they are lucky enough to get a job, it helps to pass the time and earn some cash.
The hourly rate doesn't seem much but it does help with purchasing canteen privileges, credit and toiletries. Because the pay is low, it doesn't stretch very far, so having someone to send money IF AND when they can, can really help.
Please be mindful, there are drug issues in prisons, so sending money could also be feeding a habit.

Having Faith...
In Hebrew 11:1, the Bible states, 'Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...' 🙌🏽 Simply put... Faith it. Until you make it! 👍🏽 But is it as simple as that?
What is faith?... Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. It is often looked at as a strong belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than physical proof.
How do we demonstrate faith?... It is great we want to act in faith, but it is important to keep in mind, faith doesn’t mean everything we want to do will be the right thing TO do...we do need a level of common sense too! The obvious example of this is, jumping out if a six-story building expecting to land on your feet, means you WILL hurt yourself, to say the very least. This is NOT faith.
Are we blocking ourselves from true faith?... Relying on our own ‘self’ belief systems is usually based on what WE can see, which can limit us. There may be things we want to do but because of past experiences, finances, immediate circumstances, we can end up functioning within the realms of what we have seen or have been taught. This BLOCKS faith.
According to the examples above, putting faith into action means a level of assessment and conviction is needed FIRST. Praying, asking for help, and assessing the possibilities can build confidence which allows for a greater chance of success. Even if the likelihood of what you want to achieve is very small, the chances of it happening still exists. Positioning yourself and relying on God or others to help, can make your desires come true. This IS faith.
For those of us who are believers, don’t limit God in your life. Remember God LOVES miracles. In the Bible, He performed many miracles because of the different levels of faith; Sarah and Abraham, Mosses and the Red Sea, Gideon’s army. I am glad to say, God even create miracles in the here and now! This ENCOURAGES faith.
Living in faith will change your life. This is why we NEED FAITH.

Not knowing where someone is in the prison system can be a concern. It could be a loved one or a friend, over a short time or years, whatever the circumstance put your mind at rest.

Make Every Moment Count!
Today I received a message, it said... ‘Life is a miracle and every breath we take is a gift from a God.’ It made me reflect. Yes...I would agree, our ‘present’ moments are ‘gifts’, so we must make every moment count!
Whether you believe in God the Creator or not, you have to agree, life is a miracle. From conception to this very moment, we can name specific personal events we have survived; Illnesses, accidents, perpetrators, or victims of crimes. Many people have had the same challenges we have but are now deceased, yet WE are still here.
I believe in purpose. Every situation we are born into can work in our favour, or against us. I think they call it making lemons into lemonade! Some experiences can have a sharp sour hit to our senses, but if we work hard enough we can turn them into positive valuable realities. Overall, the experience can raise us, or keep us down, it all depends on our frame of mind and how we manage each moment.
Let us take one of the many worse case scenarios, of life experience. A woman called Cheri Peters openly shares about her life; sexually abused from the age of three months old by her birth father. She started taking drugs at eleven years old. A-Go-Go dancer and homeless at the age of thirteen. At fourteen, she was gang-raped by bikers. Illiterate and living in a drug house, addicted to he**in, and selling drugs at twenty-three. After all that, you have to wonder if she is still standing? She has done SO much more than just stand!
Cheri Peters has a successful Youtube show called 'Celebrating Life In Recovery.' She goes around the world helping people work through their abuse and addictions, both perpetrators and victims alike. She is a true inspiration. Cheri is putting her trauma to use by letting every moment count, while helping others function ‘normal’, as can be.

The photograph was taken of a dried Lily-pad leaf floating on the sea, which reminded me of trees losing their leaves every year and how sometimes people feel the same...as if their life force is drying up...
If you do feel like you are losing everything, remember trees lose their leaves every year. They still stand tall...and wait for better days.
......
Simply, trees actively shed their leaves because there’s no use for them anymore. Doing this also ensures the tree’s long-term survival. If it didn’t do it every year, the water in the cells of the leaves would freeze, and this would rupture them, as the water expands as it turns to ice.
......
Also, by the time summer ends, most leaves have either been eaten by bugs or have decayed to some extent, so this gives them a chance to start fresh. To turn over a new leaf, if you will.
......
In our own lives, loss always means something too. There may be areas ravished by the ‘bugs’ of life or have been affected over time by gradual decay. These signs could reveal itself through the loss of people, places, possessions, or destructive pleasures. In most cases, our long-term survival means certain things must have to go for us to grow.
......
If you can relate to the signs of loss, it looks like you are heading into a new season.
Either you are within a phase where, to achieve or receive something better you have to wilfully completely let go ... or be forced by the harsh elements, where you have no choice. This is the brink of change.
......
So embrace the season of our life’s change and challenge, so your newest form can come in. In the process, anchor your roots deep within the healthy environment where the elements strengthen and nurture your growth. Then all you need to do is, stand tall...and wait for better days to come, because in due time...they WILL.
