Given the crisis with DC’s teen population and a dire need to redirect all efforts to supporting their redirection and restoration, The Future Foundation has decided to rename to “Don’t Give Up Tuesday.”

Simply put, The Future Foundation has offered the only trauma-informed programs to Ward 8 teens and their families since 2012.

TFF has had to drastically cut our programming in our drop-in center the due to funding and space challenges. Too many youth and families and not enough space to accommodate.

COVID protocols leave us turning folks away we can't fit.

We need folks like you and your resources (time/talent/legal tender) to continue creating a future worth fighting for; instead of fighting each other.

In 2021, this Queen challenged me to make a list of 100 things I love about myself. I have not finished but I have been transformed by the assignment. Pageantry affords me the opportunity to meet so many mighty Woman that trauma tried to trample.

Here’s one who has lifted me as she’s climbed to the top.

What is to be said about looking in the mirror 🪞! Let's go... So often we say people left us, cut us off, hated etc. Sometimes it's very much true. Sometimes it's NOT! This is where the mirror comes in and you being honest with yourself, truly evaluate your behavior, tones, undertones, cut off, talked etc. towards another!

I smile and digress! 💋

Extend much grace to others as we all have needed much grace! In my process of growth and healing, I'm thankful for the realness of truth! It can be another but I'm responsible for me! In fact God is responsible for me so I lean to and on him. He's secure!

Some have ruined relationships trying to get on with another, trying to win...lol and forgetting to hold true to their values. word and worth!
Its ok.. we all make mistakes! Great Grace!

Some thought and think NAMES is it. Many have never acknowledged their part and may never acknowledge it. It's OK just know you can't think your behavior is or was ok and another's is not warranted. Growth and Healing is an amazing process. Let it be shown in your lifestyle, established in your personal and professional relationships so you can be the example of the change that's needed in others that really starts with your very own mirror.

Family & Friends Of Incarcerated People Public Safety Community Fest was held Saturday, August 20, 2022 in The Original Great Ward Eight!

It was great seeing Cherry Blossoms from all over including ANC 8A06 Comm. McKinney, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated (Official) and the folks at Safeway who gave me my 4th COVID 19 booster.

It was a beautiful day at Ward 7 Open Streets DC and
Marshall Heights Community Development Organization (MHCDO) Taste of Ward 7. I thoroughly enjoyed District Jerk, The JERK AT NITE’d Jerk Mac n’ Cheese dish.
