Day one at State Track!!! Kofi qualified for Finals in the 100m and hopes to attack a top 5 spot with a PR tomorrow! He also hit a PR in the 200m with a 23.58 but narrowly missed finals. Stay tuned for final results Saturday early afternoon!

The Tigers packed the finals with athletes at Regionals and narrowly missed out on some state births! Many of our athletes were written off as afterthoughts as far as making the finals...expected to place just 2 or 3 athletes in the finals prior to the meet based off of previous marks/times...8 finals appearances featuring Mullan athletes was the outcome. Top 10 finishes and finals appearances was the story of our teams success at regionals. Huge congrats to Kofi Appiah for qualifying for the State Meet in both the 100m and 200m.
Many athletes had PR's and that's also a great way to end the season.

Finals and top 10 finishers are as follows:
Kofi Appiah- 100m/200m
(State Qual.)
Blake Layton- 100m
Floyd Nelson- 100m/Shot P
Dakota Driggers- Discus
Jazzy Nelson- 300m Hurdle
Austin Zingler- Long Jump
Alex Trogden- Long Jump

The girls 4x100 relay (Caitlin Garitone, Ellie Lowman, Jazzy Nelson, Autumn Charvez) finished top 5.

The boys 4x100 relay (Blake Layton, Alex Trogden, Floyd Nelson, Kofi Appiah) finished top 3.

Today's Track meet (April 18th) has been cancelled. The expected rain in TFalls MT turned into multiple inches of snow that unfortunately is sticking and staying.

Saturday was great weather in St Maries for an awesome meet! The Tigers turned heads yet again. Thanks to Coach Cloud and St Maries for a great day.

Photos from Mullan Tiger Track and Field's post 22/05/2022

Another fun and successful year at the State Track Meet. Our athletes represented Mullan well. It is nearly as fun to watch all the talent from our state compete as it is to coach our own athletes. It is a truly impressive display of athletes.

SR Luke Trogden took home 2 medals hitting the podium twice with 6th place in Shot Put and 3rd place in Discus and ending the season with the farthest throw in 1A Statewide.

Sophomores Dakota Driggers and Kofi Appiah gained valuable experience and competed well. That will help build them up for the years to come. Kofi finished well in his heat only missing the finals by a tenth of a second. Dakota got a solid mark but in a strong field this year missed the finals.

We want to thank everyone for the support this season. Especially the parents for allowing us to push your kids and for them competing so hard. Thanks to our administration for encouraging us to make it fun and memorable for the kids and a special thanks to Ken D***s, Heather Branstetter, Riley Trogden, Steve Trogden, Dawn Mckinnon and our Cafeteria crew for taking care of us. See ya next year.

15/05/2022

Bummer! The boys 4x200m team missed the bubble/at large state qualifying mark by .05 of second. The fact that it was the first time they had ever run it. Leaves us impressed with how they competed. With that information it is now official, that similar to last year we have qualified 3 athletes for state.

SR Luke Trogden in the Discus and Shot Put

SO Dakota Driggers in the Discus.

SO Kofi Aapiah in the 100m.

This part of the year is hard knowing the season is over for some really standout athletes on our team while still celebrating the success of the qualifying athletes and the team. It's really rewarding for us as coaches to see the way they compete.

Photos from Mullan Tiger Track and Field's post 15/05/2022

The Tigers competed well at Regionals and are sending at least 3 to State as we wait to see if the boys 4x200m team gets an at large bid.

SR Luke Trogden continues to dominate the Discus and adding big jumps each week. He won the Regional Meet with a throw of 157-5 which is the #1 throw in ID at 1A level and now 8th among all classifications. He took 2nd in the Shot Put sending him to State ranked 4th in ID for 1A.
Luke ran great anchor legs for the 4x100m and 4x200m that await at large possible qualifying marks.

JR Blake Layton continues to PR each meet in at least 1 event. At Regionals he did so in the 200m and is also awaiting at large info for 4x100m and 2x200m.

JR Leah Frazier had a solid performance in shot put finishing 8th and being top 10 for the 2nd year in a row at the Regional meet.

JR Floyd Nelson grabbed a PR in the 200m and is also waiting to see what happens in the 4x100m and 4x200m.

JR Aiden Stack had a PR in the Long jump and competed well in the 300m hurdles.

SO Dakota Driggers qualified for State in the Discus after entering ranked 4th and leaving at 4th. Mrs. Clutch made it with her last throw to give her the edge.

SO Kofi Appiah had PR's in both the 100m (11.5) and the 200m (24.1) making finals in both and qualifying for State in the 100m. He is also on the relays waiting to hopefully hear big news.

SO Alex Trogden had a PR in the 100m and competed well in both the shot out and long jump.

FR Ellie Lowman had a great meet finishing 6th in Long Jump which was a PR and grabbed another PR in 300m hurdles where she nearly got top 10.

The Tigers aren't done just yet. We head to Middleton ID this coming week to keep competing. Proud of these kids and how much effort they put in.

Great day at the Dist 1 1A Track meet. Big thanks to Clark Fork for hosting and putting on a great efficient meet. Congrats to the Girls from Wallace and Boys Wampus Cats for being the winning teams!

SR Luke Trogden keeps adding to the school record for discus taking 1st with a PR throw of 150.3ft and 1st with a PR shot put throw of 44.8ft. He took 1st as part of the 4x100m relay and also placed 4th in the long jump.

JR Blake Layton took 1st on the 4x100m relay team, 2nd in the 200m running 24.69, 3rd in the 100m and 4th in discus.

SO Dakota Driggers took 1st in shot put with a PR throw and also took 1st in discus.

SO Kofi Appiah took 1st in the 100m with an 11.8, 1st on the 4x100m team and 4th in the 200m.

SO Autumn Charvez placed 3rd in the 100m and 2nd in the 200m as well as a 3rd in the 300m hurdles.

SO Alex Trogden took 6th in shot put and 6th in the 100m.

SO Logan Petit placed 3rd in the Triple Jump, 4th in the 110m hurdles and ran well on the 4x200m and 4x400m relays.

SO Josh Houston got 4th in the 400m, 4th in shot put, 6th in discus and ran on the 4x400m relay.

SO Blake Knoll is the heart of the team. After a PR in shot put that he has worked pretty hard for he filled in for a sick teammate in both the 4x200m relay and the 4x400m relays so the team could compete and he (like usual) showed zero quit and all guts.

SO Zeke Hess ran about 3 miles today as he competed well in the 2mile, 1 mile, 4x200m relay and 4x400m relay.

FR Ellie Lowman did great taking 1st in the 200m, 2nd in Long Jump, 2nd in 300m hurdles and 2nd in the 100m with a PR run.

Photos from Mullan Tiger Track and Field's post 06/05/2022

First time at the Meet of Champions for 5 of our Tiger Track Athletes today while 1 got his second chance at some medals and performed bigtime.

SR Luke Trogden took 2nd in the Discus with a PR of 147'6" at his 2nd trip to this meet which now places him 16th in the state of ID from all classifications 5A down to 1A. It now puts him 2nd in the State in 1A. Luke also grabbed 3rd in the shot put hanging with the big schools very well.

JR'S Blake Layton, Floyd Nelson, Kofi Appiah and Alternate Alex Trogden got their first taste of the Champion caliber meet along with Luke in the 4x1 relay running a decent time in rough conditions but had a clean race.

SO Dakota Driggers faced probably the toughest throwing conditions I have ever seen with a full ring of water, pouring rain and a 20mph+ headwind hard to keep your eyes open in. Nearly placed top 10 and gave it all she had.

It was a great meet getting to watch our small school athletes hold their own and compete well against the big school athletes at high levels.

Photos from Mullan Tiger Track and Field's post 30/04/2022

Thanks to everyone who attended the Tigers Sports Banquet tonight. Especially those who donated or assisted in making it all happen. When it comes time to shine light on our student athletes it seems that people in our communities jump at the opportunity. See ya next year!

Photos from Mullan Tiger Track and Field's post 23/05/2021

Our 3 State Track Qualifiers competed very well in Middleton and made it known that the Tigers were there to do business with 2 athletes standing tall on the podium.

SR Riley Trogden placed 2nd on the podium in the Long Jump with a 20ft launch.

SR Talowa Fallingwater place 4th on the podium in the Discus while also finishing top 10 in both the High Jump and Triple Jump.

JR Luke Trogden battled in Shot Put and Discus with a strong field in his first trip down to state.

This first stand alone
(no co op) Track Season for the Tigers brought lots of success to all of our athletes.
To our State placing Seniors Riley and Talowa we are going to miss you and we thank you so much for laying the groundwork for the future of not just Track but all of our programs at Mullan High. Way to go out with a bang!

Photos from Mullan Tiger Track and Field's post 16/05/2021

As we send 3 Athletes on to State Track it is bittersweet to think about a large part of our team being done today. As coaches we have a lot of fun with this crew and really enjoy watching their hardwork pay off.

On To State!!!

SR Talowa Fallingwater continues her impressive track career qualifying 4 for 4 for State by placing 2nd with another school record discus throw of 106-11, placing 3rd in 300m hurdles with a PR 51.96, 4th in triple jump with 30-5.75 and after practicing high jump for a whopping 3 days places 2nd jumping 4-10. This girl is an absolute beast.

SR Riley Trogden is a long jump winning machine this season. After winning 1st place again today tying his 19-07 PR at the Regional Meet, Riley has now won 1st place at 6 of his 8 track meets this year only taking 3rd at a bigger schools invite and 6th at the meet of Champions. Very focused and driven young man.

JR Luke Trogden punched his ticket qualifying 2 for 2 taking 2nd in Shot Put throwing 41-4.5 and hitting a PR 126-11 in the Discus placing 4th. As his technique improves he continues to win big.

These 3 have continued to standout all season due to their commitment and hard work. It helps that they are REALLY naturally athletic and tough as nails too!

As stated above, as happy as we are for our 3 State qualifiers we are equally as bummed to see such great student athletes have their seasons come to a close.

SR Emily D***s headed down with PR performances in mind and grabbed one in the Discus. I'm sad to see another D***s kid come and go because they give so much of themselves to our school that often times go way beyond athletics. Emily likes to compete and expects a lot from herself and that's a quality that is easy to respect.

SR Linsay Waters had a PR in the 100m placing her top 15. She hit her goals and placed top 5 numerous times this season.

SO Leah Frazier made the shot put finals throwing well enough to place her top 10 (9th) at her first ever regional meet. She came in ranked 11th and left 9th. Leah works her butt off and will be punching her shot put ticket next year.

FR Kofi Appiah made the finals in the 100m and nearly finished top 10 in the 200m as well.

FR Alex Trogden threw close to his PR in Shot Put and is really starting to show big upside athletically. He is willing to try new events and gives it his all everytime.

FR Autumn Charvez nearly made the 200m finals finishing top 10 overall. Huge strides made by this girl all season long. Puts in as much effort as anybody does and is fearless in the face of new challenges.

FR Josh Houston improved all year long and is another workhorse for us. He is hungry for competition and placed top top 10 numerous times this season.

FR Dakota Driggers improvements this season shocked herself. But us coaches know how strong she is and when focused she is as good as any top 5 thrower in discus at any meet we have been to yet. Another athlete hungry for next year.

FR Logan Petit had a PR in the 800m and long jumped consistently all year. He pushed himself so hard to reach PRs weekly and he did over and over.

FR Blake Knoll set a lofty goal for shot put and HIT IT at Timberlake this year. Hes ready for more.

FR Zeke Hess attacked distance running events with excitement and aggressiveness. He improved every meet as we went week to week.

Our Boys 4x100 relay placed top 5 (4th) out of 8 and shaved off over a full sec with 47.76. Great job guys!
Riley Trogden
Luke Trogden
Kofi Appiah
Alex Trogden

These kids get along with the other schools, compete hard and did their fair share of winning. Sad to see them go.

Photos from Mullan Tiger Track and Field's post 08/05/2021

What an end to a JR High Track season that showed massive growth at District meet in Timberlake!

8th Grade Josh Waddell had set goals for himself in Shot Disc and 100m and hit every single one of them this season. Exceeding our throwing goals by not inches but feet.

8th grade Anela Leroy kept working to have marks that were competitive and not only did she do that, she placed top 10 often and top 5 twice. Her events were the long jump, shot put and discus.

7th grade Emma Pelham dominated often. Emma won the district Shot Put throwing over 31ft and placed top 3 in discus in wet rainy conditions. She is a hard worker that demanded more from herself and expects to win. (She does win...a lot!)

Great first year for Tiger Track. Coach Leitz and I are very proud of the work you put in and are thrilled with how you athletes have bought in and show your Tiger Pride. Lots of fun.

Photos from Mullan Tiger Track and Field's post 07/05/2021

Good showing by the Tiger Track Athletes that got the Meet of Champions Invite at Post Falls.

SR Talowa Fallingwater had a PR in the Triple Jump breaking her Mullan School Record she set 2 weeks ago with a 31-8.5 mark taking 6th and also putting her top 5 in Dist1/Dist 2. She also made the finals in Discus placing 6th and still sits as the #1 throw in Dist1/Dist2 with her school record throw of 106-6.00. She finished off her meet with a PR in 300m Hurdles with a 53.59 placing her in the top 10 for the meet and 6th in Dist1/Dist2.

SR Riley Trogden had a PR in the Long Jump at 19-7.00 placing him 6th at the meet and increasing his lead as the #1 jump in Dist1/Dist2.

JR Luke Trogden had his 2nd highest Discus mark of the season placing him top 10 at the meet. He sits as the #1 Shot Put throw in Dist1/Dist2 with 42-6.00 and is 5th in Dist1/Dist2 in Discus with a 126.00 throw.

All of our track athletes are doing great things at the right time as we gear up for the Regional Meet next weekend.

Photos from Mullan Tiger Track and Field's post 05/05/2021

Girls North Star League Champions!!! (First time in 35 years) These girls bust their butts and have really bought into this team.

Boys had a very strong showing taking first in all but two field events with multiple top 5 finishes. Finishing 3rd as a team.

Heck of a regular season for having our own stand alone track programs in two decades!!!
