It’s been awhile…but I’m slowly starting to get back into writing. I’ve been consumed by some pretty amazing books recently. If you’re in a reading or writing slump, and love adult fantasy, check these out (if you haven’t already).

Fourth Wing, by Rebecca Yarros - Author, has inspired me! As most who follow me know, I wrote and self published a memoir about our journey to adopt our daughter almost 3 years ago now. It was something I had dreamed about since I was 12. And my daughter inspired me to finally do it. But what most don’t know is that I have also always wanted to write a fantasy novel and possibly try to get an agent and get it traditionally published. If not, then I can self publish again! This book is everything I’d want my novel to aspire to be. There’s grit, romance, s**t, humor, bad ass moments, and an amazing story with amazingly real characters we can all relate to. Thank you, Rebecca, for inspiring me to continue my journey and my fantasy story. Who knows what the future holds. ❤️ The second book comes out November 7! I’m so excited!!!

The ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas destroyed me and brought me back to life! I never knew how much I loved the Fae and the fantasy world until reading this series. The romance and connection to the characters is something I could only dream of creating in a fantasy novel of my own. But I’m certainly going to try. Read this series now! 💕 Her ToG series is amazing as well! And I’m almost ready to start her Crescent City series! The worlds she creates inspire me!

And finally, the Blood and Ash series (not yet complete) by Jennifer L. Armentrout! Holy cow! The characterization and the Romance are out of this world. I feel all the things with this series. Her writing draws you into the characters’ world. Which by the way, the world she has created is insane! The different types of characters are crazy cool! And the way her main characters speak and act is so realistic. It’s like I’m watching a movie. I am inspired to try to write like this. 💙

Thank you ladies for some of the most amazing stories that I cannot let go of. And for inspiring me to create my own world with my own crazy cool characters. Let’s see what the future holds.

ONE whole year ago TODAY, I took a huge leap of faith and pushed publish on Amazon. This past year has exceeded my expectations.
