In July of 2018, I had a dream in my heart to start a small, home based e-commerce business. Why? 🤷♀️ Well…several reasons but I do love to build things.
I named the business, Lemon Drop Love after all the love I felt as a kid, when my dad would give me lemon drops.
I come by my sweet tooth-naturally, but building a brand and a business was new territory for me- I’m a nurse for heaven’s sake!
I remember wondering if I’d ever have a customer that wasn’t my sister, my friend or my cousin. 😅
My first year in business I did $21,000 in sales-but I started in July. Year two - things got crazy and I had ten times the sales so... we built a wonderful shed in the back yard for our inventory and shipping station, but honestly, WAY TOOOO SMALL.
Now, over 3.5 years later, we have 12,000 people on our email list, and the most amazing customer base. Our sales reached over $325,000 last year.
I haven’t done it alone- I have a wonderful team of women who help me a few mornings a week. I’ve learned SO much!
What a wonderful ride this has been!
I took a course from Alison J Prince that gave me all the tools I needed to build this strong foundation. But now….I’m ready to hand it off to someone who wants to take it to the next level! Maybe that’s you or someone you know? 🍋❤️
Our youngest daughter graduates this year, so after 28+ years of parenting, MJ and I have big plans to travel and see our kids who are spread across the country next year!
We listed the business for sale last week and would love your help spreading the news. It would be a great gig for someone who wants to work from home and has an outbuilding to set up shop. 🍋❤️
