So stoked to have Wholegrain Ears on board to VJ the next Nurture ❤️

Too often I see fellow women, including myself falling victim to sexual assault.

I was naive enough to believe that the local music scene I'm a part of was better, that I, other women and fellow victims around me were safer in this scene and I was absolutely wrong.

If anything, in my experience I see less people being held accountable for their actions in our scene then many others. Through what I like to call spiritual gaslighting and of course the power these people hold as event organisers etc.
I see it slide for reasons like "they've been doing healing work lately.", "They've come so far since then", "we all make mistakes", "they throw such good parties though", "I couldn't say no to supporting that headliner he booked"..

This is a touchy subject for me, especially after some recent information has came to light but as scared, lost and hurt as I've been feeling about it all. Talking about it is the way forward.
I must keep moving and do what I can to help those around me. To be able to come to terms with their trauma, to be open about their experiences, to feel safe enough to report those at fault and to just feel safe at all..

It's an absolute honour to be working with the lovely humans at What Were You Wearing? an organisation focused on providing awareness, education and advocacy regarding sexual assault.

WWYW are holding a couple of events this month while they are in Melbourne.
These include:
- A protest MELBOURNE March to End Domestic Violence
- An open panel discussion S*x, Consent & Justice Panel Discussion
- A dance event MELBOURNE WWYW MUSIC FESTIVAL

Nurture is absolutely honoured to be providing a space at their music event.
We will be doing our usual thing, proving a cosy corner for people to relax, create some art, fiddle with a puzzle or rubix cube and of course handing out quests, fun facts and affirmation cards. ✨

This Saturday is Capture • Untamed brought to you by our close friends and allies at the Capture Experience ✨

Nurture is proud to announce that we are creating a sweet little safe space for y'all to explore, sit in, create art in, read in, twiddle with a Rubix cube or cuddle up to a friend in! As well as our Fun Faeries who will be handing out quests, fun facts and affirmation cards. 💜

It's very humbling to be creating these spaces at more and more events. Working together as a community to create more safe spaces is absolutely what we do best. 🌿

We created our very first space at My Aeon last Friday night and it was really special. Our Snuggle Station got lots of love, you all made a collaborative art piece together, quests were conquered, affirmations were taken home and connections were made. 💜💜

Tonight we release our official Nurture Launch!! ✨
Not just a small space, but an aim to achieve the vibe we made on Friday throughout the entire venue.

Nurture is in cahoots with dream team Progression Sessions & Red Moon this weekend for a great cause. 💜

For us, this event is a reminder of why we come together. For a sense of community, family and belonging. We all know someone struggling right now and it's time to band together our community to come to their aid.

All proceeds from this event are being donated to the cause and you can expect a night of great music, performers, art, a hugging booth and a cosy space brought to you by our family. ❤️
