I have been enjoying a beautiful Christmas and New Year with friends and family in my Italian home. 💕

For those of you who have read 'Saving Madonna', you might be interested to know that this week marks the 80th anniversary of Pasquale Rotondi and Emilio Lavagnino meeting in Urbino and sending the art convoy on its way to safety. Walking the streets of Urbino last night as the strong wintery winds blew across the piazza, I thought of these two brave men and their allies on that cold night.

Being an old fashioned lover of the printed paper, I was overly excited to find out that today’s copy of the The New York Times was the 60,000th issue. I just hope I am still around to celebrate the 70,000th issue on Saturday April 29th 2051. 🎉🥳🍾

I had my first bookclub invitation this morning. It was such fun to discuss the characters, the background research and the role of women in wartime Italy with a group of interested readers from different timezones.
