On February 17, 2023, the Math Department held an Outreach Program at Sta. Rita Elementary School, with the theme "A Person for Others."
The program started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, which was led by Marky Tolentino, the Math club's Protocol officer, and was followed by a prayer led by Reynier Pangadanganan, the Math club's Public Information Officer.
Sir Noel T. Usi, Math Club Adviser, welcomed everyone, especially the students. He also stressed that he graduated from Sta. Rita Elementary School.
After the brief introductory ceremony, the Math club officers presented ideas and approaches for solving integers under the supervision of Sir Noel Usi, Ma'am Julie Ann Dungo, and Ma'am Rosalie Cunanan. Moreover, pupils were handed addition and division window cards to answer for a bit of leisure. Five students received scores of 95 or above in Addition (+), while only one student received the highest score of 93 in Division (÷). The said students received a reward for showing excellence in solving the window cards that were given.
Furthermore, Ma'am Rosalie Cunanan taught the students how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers, and the students caught on quickly. They then played Flash Cards, with each student receiving a prize for getting the correct answer.
As everyone enjoyed the activities, no one can dispute that the students' energy was low after having so much fun, which was why the Math Club provided scrumptious snacks along with a pad of paper for each student. In addition, this was intended for the club to express enthusiasm for the students’ cooperation in the said outreach program.
The math club donated window cards, bond papers, and intermediate papers to the school before officially closing the program. The pupils expressed their appreciation to the club's teachers and officers. As the day came to a close, everyone's faces were filled with smiles.
The Emcee of the program was Narnia Sarmiento, President of the Math Club.

Math Dep’t holds Jingle Competition
Kassandra Nica Pineda
On February 3, 2023, different grade levels and sections vied in a Jingle contest organized by the Math Department.
The seven (7) sections from grade nine (9) were instructed to create a performance that included song and dance while emphasizing the importance of mathematics. The students were allowed to use a variety of musical accompaniments as long as they stayed on track with their objectives. The contestants were from Narra, Talisay, Bakawan, Molave, Kamagong, Yakal, and Mahogany. They have taken part in order to communicate their message to current and prospective students.
"I'm overjoyed that this contest or activity will allow me and my classmates to showcase our talents and creativity; the weeks of preparation paid off, and I am extremely satisfied with the result," said the grade nine (9) Narra class president, Khlouie Nikki Pineda.
Meanwhile, on February 14, 2023, in conjunction with the celebrations of Valentine's Day and Family Day, Sir Noel Usi would then award selected students who won the Math Jingle. Narra placed third, Talisay finished second, and Yakal pursed first place, with a cash prize.
Math club organizes a festival of talents
The Math Club of San Vicente-San Francisco High School celebrated "Mathematics: Festival of Talents" on February 3, 2023, where Francentians could showcase their talents in numeracy, creativity, dancing, singing, composing, and, most notably, critical thinking.
The Rubics Cube Tournament, Math Trail, Soduko Puzzle, Math Quiz Bee, 3D Polygon Matchstick, Recycled Fibonacci Art, and Math Jingle were all held last January. These activities were organized by the Math Club officers and teachers, with the help of junior high students.
The purpose is to highlight the importance of mathematics and to promote mathematical knowledge in everyday life through innovative ideas, all while highlighting the learners' skills and talent. Mathematics is more than a challenging subject for students. "Mathematics is all around us, even if we don't realize it," said Sir Noel T. Usi, Master Teacher in Math.
