Great weekend of cycling, camping and weather! Couldn’t ride a couple weeks ago so we rode the route Friday. Root River Trail and a big gravel climb on Saturday and then a mountain bike ride on amazing trails in amazing weather back in Duluth on Sunday!

Couldn’t ride the Heck last weekend so we rode the 55 miler yesterday. Thanks for creating such a great course! Beautiful day! Hadn’t ridden my gravel bike since August when one of us got COVID and we couldn’t do the gravel bike stage race in Canada we’d been thinking about for a year. It was really nice to get out for a ride on it yesterday.

My first Chequamegon 40 mountain bike race in 32 years! I last raced the 40 in 1990. I felt so much better at 54 than I did at 22! A lot of that had to do with my Blur full suspension mountain bike. Easier on my body than the fully rigid bike I rode in 1990! Kim and I had so much fun and Kim crushed her FIRST mountain bike race ever! Mid race thunderstorm made it a little muddy! Great day on the bike!
