My girly girl is 1 year old and already loves playing with dolls. I wanted to create a more baby friendly doll without hair that could be messed up by pulling on it or ending up in her mouth 🤦‍♀️
Now the hard part, containing my excitement and waiting for Christmas!

My first cloth doll! 😍
This is something I've wanted to do since before I bought my sewing machine about 5 years ago, but didn't believe I had the skills. I've been following so many dreaming of the day I would create my first cloth doll. With baby girl on the way, I figured now would be the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I found the perfect pattern with an easy to understand tutorial for a complete beginner like myself from and made it my own. Mistakes were made and lessons learned, but I'm so happy with how she turned out!

I haven't posted in a while as we've been busy preparing for our baby girl arriving in August!
Also my sweet brother has been keeping me busy because apparently all of his coworkers are having babies! I'm so grateful they chose me to do this. It's pretty cool to think that everyone who had a baby while working with my brother will have a custom blanket made by me!

As I was making the pig, my son (1 year and 9 months) kept wanting to play with her. I told him, "I'm making this for Jenny," Well, last week we were going to a light display with Jenny and her Mom and this was our conversation:
"Are you ready to go see Jenny?"
He laughs and runs away which is not unusual when he sees me gathering our things trying to leave, but he comes back with the pig and says, "Jenny's pig!"
"That is Jenny's pig, but we're going to leave her here for now because she's not finished yet."
"Okay, Mommy" and he gives her a big hug and puts her back where he got her. It melted my heart. I hope Jenny loves her just as much.

I knew I needed to make this adorable bunny the moment I saw it! I anxiously waited for the Pumpkin pattern by to be released. He turned out exactly as I was hoping. I love his sweet face and his too-big trousers. My boy loves him too! He said, "Bunny! Thump thump!" 😂😍(His Thumper book is one of his favorites) And gave him a big hug and kiss the moment he saw him!
