“Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations Pay-out"

The cash assistance was distributed to marginal fisherfolk in the municipality of Palimbang. The program is under the Crisis Intervention Section of the DSWD Region XII in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Sultan Kudarat and the Local Government Unit of Palimbang.

New year, new opportunities for our rice farmers! 🧑‍🌾🌾

It is a fulfilled day yesterday, January 18, 2024 as the RCEF Social Mobilization for Sultan Kudarat was held here in Palimbang in coordination from the Local Government Unit headed by our ever dynamic municipal mayor, Hon. Joenime Kapina and DA-PhilRice Midsayap headed by its branch director, Dr. Sailila E. Abdula.

The said activity discussed the certified rice seed allocation for Wet Season 2024 under RCEF-Seed program for each municipality from Sultan Kudarat. Moreover, representative from DA RFO XII Rice Banner Program presented the allocation of hybrid rice seeds for Dry and Wet Season for this year, and staff from RSBSA team also discussed the updated data for the status of RSBSA encoding.

The discussion became even interesting when Hon. Joenime B. Kapina grace the crowd with his presence and delivered an inspiring message to everybody despite him being on fasting for his Sunnat. He then emphasize the development of our municipality and that we should always nurture our faithfulness for what religion we are in as part of our Provincial Governor, Hon. Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu's campaign for Halal governance.

It ended successfully thru the shared efforts from OMAg-Palimbang staff led by the office's MAO, engr. Soraima P. Akmad-Lascuña and Philrice Midsayap team headed by Mr. Ommal H. Abdulkadil, RCEF Coordinator, and a full-force attendance from the Sultan Kudarat Municipal/City Agriculturists and AEWs from rice program of every municipality.

This 16th day of October, the Local Government Unit of Palimbang headed by the ever supporting Action Agad Mayor Joenime B. Kapina commemorates the World Food Day as we remind and show to the fellow Palimbangeños the importance of water in our daily lives. This precious resource is not infinite and we need to stop taking it for granted. What we eat, how that food is produced, all affect water.

The Office of Municipal Agriculture-Palimbang (OMAg), together with the Department of Agriculture RFO XII 4Ks Program, conducted 4 days on-site training to program beneficiary which is the Masaganang Nayon Sa Baluan Farmers Association of Brgy. Baluan Palimbang Sultan Kudarat

The said training, which focuses on livelihood (food processing), organizational strengthening, corn production, high-value crop production, and sloping agricultural land technology, aims to help the farmers boost their production, create additional income, and preserve their agricultural land.

In addition, DA 4Ks has a production support intervention of corn seeds, fertilizers, assorted fruit seedlings, and vegetable seeds as start-up capital.

Furthermore, we are thankful for the unending support of our municipal mayor, Hon. Joenime B. Kapina to all our farmers and also to the Municipal Agriculturist, Engr. Soraima P. Akmad-Lascuña

The Office of the Municipal Agriculture (OMAg) thru Livestock Section conducted anti-rabies vaccination at Brgy. San Roque. 257 heads of dogs and cats have been vaccinated and a total of 153 individuals have been served.

Thank you Barangay Council of San Roque esp Chairwoman Dorcas Marie Mortera, Kgd Gemma Ganotice and Kgd Marvin Fermil for accommodating and assisting us in the said activity.

A courtesy by the Regional Director of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Region 12 to our beloved mayor of Palimbang regarding the Lambaklad Project.

Lambaklad is one of the new technologies introduced by the BFAR12 in the municipal water of Palimbang situated between the waters of Brgy. Kiponget and Brgy. Namat as a pilot project of the whole region that aims to significantly increase the fish capture production thus generates significant livelihood income of the fisherfolk community.

Together with his focal personnel, the director himself discussed the status and significant impact of the said ongoing project to the livelihood of our marginal fishermen in the municipality of Palimbang.

The said visit was made by the BFAR-XII Regional Director himself Sir Usop D. Pendaliday Jr., together with his Fish Capture Focal Sir Jefffrey I. Nuñez, and a warm welcome by the action-agad Municipal Mayor of Palimbang, Hon. Joenime B. Kapina, together with his Executive Secretary Abdulsattar Badruddin; his Paralegal Consultant Sir Mabaning Samama, and his Municipal Agriculturist Engr. Soraima P. Akmad.

As the 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐒𝐀𝐀𝐃) enters its second phase of implementation, more farmer-beneficiaries continue to get access to the program's interventions.
In June of 2023, a total of 10 farmers associations (FAs) in Sultan Kudarat Province granted interventions from the Department of Agriculture 12 - SAAD.
Two FAs from the municipalities of Bagumbayan, Sen. Ninoy Aquino, Kalamansig, Lebak, and Palimbang received one horse.
FA-recipients include Panitikan Farmers Association, San Roque Farmers Association, Buklod Women Association, Bugso IP Farmers Association, Dulangan Manobo Coffee Farmers Association, Salansang Coffee Production Farmers Association, Kumaningag United Farmers Association, RIC Sabanal Women Industrial Development Association, Bakbakon Farmers Association, and Masaganang Nayon sa Baluan (MASANAB) Farmers Association.
The continued service of this DA program is focused on decreasing poverty incidence in geographically-isolated and disadvantaged areas in the country.

February 11, 2023 RCEF-RFFA Cash Card Distribution

The long wait is over for our rice farmers as they've received their cash cards as beneficiaries for the RCEF-RFFA 2021 held at Municipal Gym, Poblacion, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat last February 11, 2023.

The said 1-day event is a collaborative efforts from DA RFO XII headed by Ma'am Emma A. Narca-Alternate Rice Focal Person, Landbank-Lebak branch led by their manager ma'am Rosemarie R. Bodomo, and our Local Government Unit spearheaded by none other than the Action Man, Hon. Joenime B. Kapina together with the Office of the Municipal Agriculture OIC-MAO ma'am Rondra Shield N. Santiago.

Present also on that day is one of Sultan Kudarat Province's Sangguniang Panlalawigan Hon. Soriel S. Lib-atin, and two of our very own Sangguniang Bayan members Hon. Sucony A. Pendatun-Committee on Agriculture and Hon. Mark M. Siokon-Committee on Finance.

The total beneficiaries of RCEF-RFFA 2021 is 996 identified rice farmers through updated RSBSA, and each beneficiary received five thousand pesos (5,000.00) cash assistance.

Sa kabila ng paghagupit ni bagyong Paeng, matagumpay pa ring idinaos kahapon, Nobyembre 06, 2022 ang kauna-unahang AGRI-FISHERY TRADE FAIR COMPETITION ng bayan na nilahukan ng 39 Barangays ng ating munisipyo. Ito ay parte ng selebrasyon para sa 63rd Founding Anniversary at 13th Kalilang Festival.

Ginanap ang ribbon cutting sa pangunguna ng ating masipag at very supportive na alkalde, Hon. Joenime Kapina , ang kanyang aktibong Municipal Agricultural Officer na si engr. Soraima P. Akmad , at kasama ang lahat ng barangay officials na kasali sa naturang kompetisyon.

Naging makulay at masaya din ang pagsalubong ng mga barangay officials nang maglibot ang ating alkalde sa lahat ng kubo upang masaksihan ang husay ng bawat kalahok. Nagsimula na rin kahapon ang preliminary judging na pinagunahan ni Engr. Soraima P. Akmad kasama sina sir Ludrimar A. Esparagoza galing sa PCIC RFO XII-Lebak Satellite Office at ma'am Marilyn Ty na representante ng PASALI.

Muli, napatunayan nanaman ng ating mga kababayang magsasaka at mangingisda na tunay ngang manisan ang Palimbang.

The office facilitated the 2-day training for "Postharvest Technology for Fish Processing" and "Tilapia/Hito Grow-out Culture and Hatchery Management" held at Municipal Function Hall, Poblacion, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat. The said trainings were participated by 20 fishpond growers and 20 fisherfolk vendors in Palimbang.

Through the initiative and effort of our Provincial Governor Hon. Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu and with the help of BFAR XII and Provincial Agriculture Office headed by Ma'am Estella S. Hallegado, represented by the Provincial Supervising Agriculturist Sir Norodin G. Palti, thus, a heartfelt gratitude to the Provincial Goverment of Sultan Kudarat for bringing the interventions nearer to our constituents here in Palimbang.

Furthermore, a big thanks also to our Municipal Mayor of Palimbang, Hon. Joenime B. Kapina by giving his continuous support to the Municipal Agriculture Office headed by Engr. Soraima P. Akmad.

Such trainings are so beneficial to our marginalized farmers and fisherfolk in support to their progressive and sustainable daily living.

Naganap kahapon, Setyembre 21, 2022, Martes ang distribusyon ng Fuel Discount Card para sa ating mga kababayang nagsasaka ng mais at mga mangingisda. Ginanap ang naturang programa sa Municipal Gymnasium, Poblacion, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat.

Ang mga napiling benepisyaryo ng programa ay naka-base sa SYSTEM GENERATED ng RSBSA o Registry System on Basic Sector in Agriculture.

Ang Department of Agriculture (DA) RFO XII at Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) XII ay nagsanib pwersa sa pagbibigay ng cash cards sa mga benepisyaryo na may kabuuang bilang na 458.

Ang programang ito ay naglalayon na mabigyang pansin at tulong ang mga nasa laylayang magsasaka at mangingisda na lubos na na apektohan ng pagtaas ng langis at krudo sa merkado.

Ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng bayan ng Palimbang sa pangunguna ng masipag at may aksyon agad na alkalde na si Hon. Joenime B. Kapina, at ang ulo ng opinisa ng Municipal Agriculture, Engr. Soraima P. Akmad ay lubos ang pagpapasalamat sa DA RFO XII at BFAR XII sa walang-sawang pagtulong sa ating mga kababayan.

MAS MAANI raw ang weedy rice? 😱😱😱

Ang weedy rice na kilala ding "up and down" at taas baba o halo, lahok, o weder-weder ay palay na mas matataas sa karaniwang palay at kulay kayumanggi at p**a ang mga butil.

Marami sa ating ka-PALAY ang nag-aakalang mas maani ang weedy rice dahil aani ka na sa taas, may aanihin ka pa sa baba. Wrong information po ito!

Ayon sa mga pag-aaral, ang weedy rice ay pesteng-damo na nakababa ng 20-90% ng ani depende sa dami nito. Dumadami ang weedy rice kapag may kontaminasyon ang binhing ginamit.

PAMAMAHALA NG WEEDY RICE:
✅Panatilihin ang mababaw na patubig sa palayan para hindi tumubo ang mga nalaglag na buto ng weedy rice.
✅ Kung may weedy rice na sa palayan, bunutin ang buong palay o putulin agad ang mga uhay nito.
✅ Linising mabuti ang mga makinang pangsaka bago gamitin sa pag-aani.

Sa darating na taniman:
✅ Gumamit ng dekalidad na binhi.
✅ Sundin ang 21-30 araw na paghahanda ng lupa.

HANGGANG 50% ang bawas ng ani kapag may bacterial leaf blight (BLB) ang palayan! 😲

Ngayong tag-ulan, huwag hayaang laging babad sa tubig ang palay at maglagay lamang ng tamang dami ng pataba upang sila'y maiwasan.

Maaring isagawa ang sumusunod para maiwasan ang BLB:
✅Magsagawa ng alternate wetting and drying (AWD) para mabawasan ang halumigmig sa puno ng palay at maiwasan ang pagkalat ng sakit.
✅ Tanggalin agad ang palay na tinamaan ng sakit. Huwag ibaon sa palayan dahil maaaring mabuhay ang mga bacteria sa tubig at makahawa sa ibang panamin.
✅ Iwasang maglagay ng sobrang pataba lalo na ng nitroheno. Mas mainam hatiin ng 2-3 beses upang hindi lumambot ang puno at dahon ng palay na maaaring sanhi ng pagkasugat at mapasukan ng sakit.

Sa darating na taniman:
✅ Pagpahingahin ang lupa ng hindi bababa ng 30 araw. Mas mainam din na hayaan matuyo ang mga pasyok at mga dayami para mamatay ang semilya ng sakit.
✅ Gumamit ng barayti na may laban sa sakit.

Mas maganda ang pagtubo ng palay pag hindi palagiang nakalubog sa tubig ang pinitak dahil nakakahinga ang ugat ng ating panamin.

Kung sobra ang tubig sa pinitak:
❌ nahihirapang lumabas ang mga suwi
❌ nagiging payat ang mga puno kaya mas madali itong matumba

Kailangan ding alisan ng tubig ang palayan para makapasok ang hangin sa lupa na nakakatulong sa mas mabilis na pagsusuwi at nagpapatibay sa puno ng palay.

Sa tamang pagpapatubig, maiiwasan din ang pag-atake ng mga pesteng brown plant hopper (BPH) at sakit gaya ng bacterial leaf blight (BLB).

Gawin ang alternate wetting and drying (AWD) na isinasagawa sa tulong ng observation well. Kapag naubos na ang tubig sa observation well, hudyat ito na kailangan nang magpatubig.

Sa teknolohiyang ito, panaka-naka lamang ang pagpapatubig upang tuyo ang lupa sa tamang yugto ng palay bago patubigan muli.

✅Mababawasan ang mga pesteng namumugad sa puno ng palay gaya ng rice black bug (RBB) at brown planthopper (BPH).

✅Kinakain nila ang mga kuhol kaya bawas peste sa palayan.

✅Ang dumi ng itik ay karagdagang pataba sa lupa.

Huwag maging sanhi ng epidemya ❗

Ang pagdadala ng mga produktong baboy at baboy sa byahe ay natukoy na isa sa mga dahilan ng pagkalat ng ASF virus. 🐷

Ito ay isang paalala sa mga manlalakbay, magbabakasyon at pasahero ng banta ng ASF sa pagdadala ng mga pork at pork products (chicharon, sausages, ham, chorizo, at iba pa) bilang pasalubong o pabaon sa pagdiriwang ng Semana Santa.

#𝗥𝗦𝗕𝗦𝗔 | Ang Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA) ay isang elektronikong talaan ng mga payak na impormasyon ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda. Ang database ng RSBSA ay naglalaman ng impormasyon ukol sa kanilang profayl, tulad ng pangalan, edad, adres, lawak ng sinasaka, uri ng inaani, at iba pa.

Magparehistro na sa RSBSA upang maging benepisyaryo ng mga interbensyon ng Kagawaran ng Pagsasaka.

Upang makapagpa-rehistro, magtungo lamang sa inyong Municipal o City Agriculture Office at kayo ay tutulongan sa mga rekisito.

March 03-04, 2022 || Ginanap ang 2-day Ground Validation ng 1,164 rice farmers ng 2nd batch RCEF-Rice Farmers Financial Assistance o RCEF-RFFA na pinangunahan ng RSBSA focal person at team leader ng nasabing validation na si Madam Janeth Fernandez at ang kanyang staff galing sa DA RFO XII kasama ng Office of the Municipal Agriculture sa pamumuno ng Municipal Agricultural Officer (MAO) na si Engr. Soraima P. Akmad.

Ang RCEF-RFFA ay parte ng bagong panukalang batas na RA 11203 o mas kilalang Rice Tariffication Law. Ang batas na ito ay ang pagtanggal ng quantitative restrictions sa lahat ng imported na bigas na may kaakibat na taripa. Nangangahulugang hindi na nililimitahan ang pag-angkat natin ng bigas sa ibang bansa na may karampatang taripa. Ang pondong galing sa taripa ay binibigay ng gobyerno sa mga lokal na magsasaka ng palay na tinawag na Rice Competitive Enhancement Fund (RCEF), at sa ilalim ng programang ito ay ang Rice Farmers' Financial Assistance (RFFA).

Laking pasasalamat ng bayan ng Palimbang sa patuloy na tulong na ibinibigay ng DA RFO XII sa pamumuno ni sir Dennis R. Arpia, ang OIC-Regional Executive Director at ang walang sawang pagsuporta sa agrikultura ng butihing alkalde ng bayan na si Hon. Joenime B. Kapina.

"Distribution of 50,000 Tilapia Fingerlings for Tilapia Growers and Backyard Vegetable Seeds for the Households of Palimbang"

On March 1, 2022 at the Office of the Municipal Agriculture, Palimbang Sultan Kudarat, a total of 50,000 Tilapia Fingerlings were dispersed to tilapia growers of different barangays in the municipality of Palimbang; While assorted vegetables seeds were distributed to 100 households for backyard vegetable provisions.

The said distribution is in line with the livelihood Program "Saganang Tulong sa Mamamayan (STM) Project" of the Provincial Governor, Hon. Suharto T. Mangudadatu, PhD. through his Provincial Agriculturist Maam Estella Hallegado; and the active Mayor of Palimbang Hon. Joenime B. Kapina with his Municipal Agriculturist Engr. Soraima P. Akmad to support the livelihood of inland fish growers while providing households the backyard vegetable sustenance to survive amidst crisis.

Thus, a warm gratitude to the said Provincial Governor and the said Municipal Mayor for the unending supports and dedications to the marginalized farmers and fisherfolk of this locality.

TURNOVER CEREMONY OF MAILUM SOLAR-POWERED IRRIGATION SYSTEM (SPIS), CANAL EXTENSION OF BADIANGON DIVERSION DAM & IMPROVEMENT OF DIVERSION DAM AND CONCRETING OF MAIN CANAL

On January 26, 2022, at Sitio Mailum, Brgy. Badiangon, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat, the Department of Agriculture Region 12 headed by the RAED Chief Engr. Jocelyn F. Torres as representative to the DAXII OIC-Regional Director together with her RAED-SRES chief Engr. Nolito R. Garcia, accomplished the successful turn-over of DA-funded projects to the Coastal Farmers and Fisherfolk Association of Brgy. Badiangon headed by their president Mr. Gerry Lumayag.
